Hi boss If pay income tax Which channel Can get rebate or point or voucher? EWallet? Cc? JOMPaY? Or Good cashback?

I hope I can help you. But I just use the fpx transaction to pay after filling up my tax declaration in April yearly.
The extra payment I need to pay is just too little to hv any significant gains for the effort n time spend on looking n exploring for "best" payment channels.
Most of the time I hv refunds after minus all the tax claims.

Mind sharing more info abt Yr business n how it derived the income and does it need you to do work that generate income in Malaysia?

Ex, if you hv a company in malaysia that do  services overseas with overseas customers,... They pay to Yr company.... Is that income derived from malaysia?

Very very sorry for the super late reply, actually I haven't started doing my business yet so I'm asking out of curiosity. About my profession, I'm a 3d artist looking to go freelance on sites like Fiverr or Upwork. From what I see, many of the clients on those sites are from other countries. If I do receive payment from such clients, is still considered income derived from Malaysia?

I think,
When you worked in malaysia to earn an income, you are required to report that income to Malaysia govt.
Unless they pay you overseas without the knowledge of Malaysia govt and if the amount is not large to bring it back thru other means, then,....

I think they are accurate till changes made,... Check the latest budget 2022 announcement,... Maybe got some goodies that may be useful for YA 2021 too.
Best is get source from lhdn,.... Can get a rough idea of what to expect from the YA2020 tax relief list. Do note some tax goodies for YA2020 are extended till end of 2021 too.

Anyone knows if LHDN is taking the payment date or date an expense incurred
For example I booked a hotel stay in Dec 2020 for early Jan 2021. Is it considered for YA2020 or 2021 tax relief?

While waiting for qualified answers...
My guess is, they will take the date you made the full payment (official receipt)
Did the receipt written for stay in Jan 2021?
I think lhdn will not go confirm if you actually go stay there or if you buy that stay for someone else instead of you.

In the new Permai stimulus package announced today, the government has extended the special tax relief of RM2,500 on purchases of phones, computers, and tablets to 31 December 2021.

The special tax relief was introduced in the middle of last year as a way to boost work-from-home arrangements. Individual taxpayers could claim tax relief of up to RM2,500 for purchases of these particular electronic devices between 1 June and 31 December 2020.

This was on top of the existing tax relief that allowed taxpayers to claim up to RM2,500 under the lifestyle category, which includes expenditure on sports equipment, reading materials, Internet bills, and the same personal electronic devices.

Through the display of the ledger, taxpayer can check whether records of tax transactions namely assessments, payments and repayments have been updated.
As an example, to confirm whether Scheduler Tax Deduction (STD) payments deducted by the employer have been received and credited by IRBM.
It is also to check whether tax assessment submitted through IRBM's e-Filing has been updated in the ledger.

Through the display on the current tax balance position, taxpayer can distinguish whether he has a debit or credit balance.
Debit balance means an amount of tax is still outstanding while credit balance means an amount of tax overpaid by the taxpayer.

your balance of RM(326.71) is in bracket....in bracket means still have credit balance /over paid amount??

Ok clearly from the letter they sent me that I need to pay that amount. I think the column is 'Lebihan Bayaran/(Baki Cukai)' so if its in the bracket then it is remaining baki to pay. Disclaimer am not finance/account background so this is what I understand. Do you think I should try to contact LHDN back for confirmation?

Anyway my question was looking from the statement only on 17/8/2021 they charge me 'TAKSIRAN ASAL T/T 2019' for 2019 tax. Can they suddenly charge us for past year taxes even after we complete the tax filing for that year?

On the 1st question: Yes, I think you should ask lhdn
On the 2nd question: yes I think they can charge you extra taxes even if you had filed n paid your previously self assessed tax return.
For they may think that some claims cannot be granted or you may hv inputted some data not correctly, thus may cause you to hv to pay more taxes...
well they are just my uneducated guesses....
