thanks for the sharing of information! good to know.

Just booked airbnb hehe.

on the side note... i cant seem to find any invoice for the accomodation under airbnb.... does it qualify to be claimable?

Or it is only applicable for those commercial hotels only which usually issues official receipt / invoice upon payment.

ok noted, but just a note though,....

"We would like to reiterate that we never discuss tax matters over the phone but only through official emails or letters using the '@hasil.gov.my.' domain.

"Tax payers must ensure their income or real estate gains taxes are paid to the respective state revenue agencies or LHDN while stamp duty is paid to its authorised collectors," it said.

The people are urged to be more careful by verifying with LHDN on any suspicion calls, emails or letters by contacting Hasil Care Line or its officers at www.hasil.gov.my or go to the nearest branch.

not to 100% say that your just received calls are not genuine, but "fake" can happens in real life, .....the numbers that had been displayed on your phone may not be what it seems to be in real life...
it is called Phone Number Spoofing

Unscrupulous telemarketers and scam artists are always looking for new ways to get people to answer their calls. Most phones have the ability to screen calls, providing information about the caller when the phone rings. But an increasingly common technique scam artists have been using is to falsify or “spoof” their caller ID information.

Phone number spoofing causes the Caller ID to display a phone number or other information to make it look like the calls are from a different person or business. While the caller’s information may appear local, the calls are often placed by telemarketers located outside the state or country. Spoofing is usually done with malicious or unscrupulous motivations by the caller and it has led many people to believe that you can no longer trust Caller ID.
