Just downloaded the new PCB jadual. I found the PCB for the same income has drop quite a lot in 2016. Wanna confirm whether if I am missing something.

Example
In 2015. Married, wife working , 3 children, and monthly salary is RM4000 (How can survive in Malaysia?)
.........
Can someone please confirm?
*
In March 2010, the National Economic Advisory Council to the NEM reported that 80% of households had an average income of less than RM3,000 per month,..............

If BIK is not taxable, no need to consider as your HR will list this under Section G of the EA form/statement
*
if
EA form stated
Gaji 96000
bonus 8000

bik (section B of EA form)
kereta 8800
tel 600

will the RM 2000 special tax relief entitled to claim?

No.

Without BIK, it's already over RM 96k (RM 104k)

Anything under Section B is taxable.
*
thanks for the input and clarification....
was thinking of claiming....luckily checked with you ELSE...kena teruk lah

just checked the LHDN website
"Special relief of RM2,000 will be given to tax payers earning on income of up to RM8,000 per month (aggregate income of up to RM96,000 annually). This relief is applicable for Year Assessment 2015 only. "

Just received this letter from lhdn.
So what they mean is they will check my file.
If nothing informed from them within 3 months. I can just call to ask for refund?

Or this is simply an excuse for them to delay payment?
*
hmm.gif just from my previous encounters after receiving these letters.
they will not contact you......
you have to contact them,...bring along your submitted data...(ex, BE form, EA form, receipts (proofs) of the items you claimed during the submission of the BE form)...they need to verify the data submitted.

well, that is just my encounters....hope yours are not the same.

Yes but subject to max limit

and also NOT all the money you had pay for the premium can be used to claim.
look at the breakdown of the items contributed to the sum of the premium.
"many/some" in the lists cannot be used to claim.

icon_question.gif Appreciate if someone could advise me what to prepare while pending the LHDN officer to call me? Sorry, I think its a bit too late for me to read through the posts in front .. sad.gif .

I received a letter from LHDNM recently, the contents of which reads as follow:

Tuan,
PEMBERITAHUAN PENANGGUHAN BAYARAN BALIK CUKAI PENDAPATAN
....
Anybody had experienced this and can someone share the process / likely information to be prepared for their assessment? Do I need to appear physically at LHDN for the audit or only furnishing of documents will do (through email?). Anybody who gets the letter but not being requested to provide the additional information required & successfully got the refund back?

Many thanks
*
for my previous case......I did not wait.....
for had been told they don't bother to call you....it is your money...you take pre active action.

when you submit the tax borang (BE) did you make a copy?
if yes, just get the receipt for the items you claimed for reliefs or seek tax rebates & income statement.....
photo copy a set of those.
get both the originals & the photocopies and goto LHDN office......they just need to be shown proofs of what you had declared in the returns

they are friendly and courteous ...so not worry....

Yes, I do keep a PDF copy of the BE form. Are the officers gonna go into detail of the receipts, invoices etc? Such as if I claimed I am relieved of RM X, are they gonna inspect through the receipts, invoices etc and add up the amounts and see if they really contribute to RM X?
YES,...they should...I will be very mad If they did not do that. btw, they will also inspect and tell you what is not claimable too.  biggrin.gif

Are the photocopies of the invoices etc to be retained by them?  Is there prior appointment with the officers needed or just walk in will do?
my case is I just walk in, get the waiting queue number...wait for my turn...yes, they will view the original and the original will be return to you.

If I am unable to show sufficient proof, what would be the repercussion?  confused.gif Actually, there is something that I over deducted which does not exist ...
nothing to worry,...they will just do penalty of the over declared amount. then just pay the penalty....(if your claim back is > the penalty, they will deduct from it)
