Hi guys, I am planning to buy a Mac Mini (the one without monitor just the CPU), so I would need to get a separate monitor for it. Can I claim the tax relief for both since it's considered a set but it's from a different vendor and separate receipt?

Hi, I'm currently working two full time jobs
- one is local company where I go to work daily
- one is foreign company where I could work remotely in msia

Questions
1. By right I need declare sum of both incomes as my total income when filling tax right? I once heard some said, gov only recognise income from 1 job (highest salary one), so shall I declare both or just one?

2. Since both also work as employee, I only need file e-BE?

I think, guess are
1) you need to declare all income that are derived in Malaysia unless there is no record of you receiving that money or documented proof that money had been paid to you or the entity that pay you did not record the transaction for accounting purposes
2) my guess is Yes too

Hi sifus.

Hoping to find some advice here.

Was speaking to my sister & she has never paid tax before. Her income has surpassed RM34k as of 2019. My advice to her was to register with LHDN & pay whats necessary inc penalty if there is as it wouldnt be a huge sum.

She spoke to her office tax agent & the agent said its best to register in Dec & pay for 2021's dues in 2022.

May i know what will be the best advice from you guys?

not a tax expert here,...so may i just kay poh abit here

according to LHDN "with effect year 2015 an individual who earns an annual employment income of RM34,000 (after EPF deduction) has to register a tax file."

thus yr sister should just go register for a tax file,....as to whether she is subjected to any tax able income,...it has to depends on the actual income and the total cumulative tax relief she is eligible to claim

if the agent said its best to register in Dec & pay for 2021's dues in 2022. ....then i am sure i am no smarter than that tax agent....

but i think if she is subjected to tax for her income in 2021 that are declared in April 2022,...then i think i read it before,...LHDN may ask you sister to submit tax declaration for year of income in 2020, 2019, 2018 or until the year she is not subjected to taxable income.

Thanks Mum for the insight. Thats what i thought as well. Am not saying the tax agent is wrong but wouldnt the prev years of income which are taxable come and bite you in the back? Am pretty sure LHdn wont let you go scot free imho.

and also be mentally prepare for this eventuality...

Common tax offences that could get you into trouble
1. Not filing your taxes
If you earn enough to be taxed (as of 2015, this means earning an annual income of RM34,000 after EPF deduction), you need to file your taxes. If you don’t, you could be fined between RM200 to RM20,000, imprisoned or both.

I am not sure there is a link for receipts because I normally get a receipt immediate upon payment ...... you have to pay through their portal. Is the same for other bill payments.

i think, due to this

"LHDNM cooperated with local banks, foreign banks and other government agencies which act as LHDNM’s Tax Collection Agent.
These agents is authorized to accept tax payment on behalf of LHDNM. Bank Payment Slip or Internet Payment Slip is considered as a LHDNM official receipt. "
http://phl.hasil.gov.my/pdf/pdfam/TAXPAYME...NICeBAYARAN.pdf

thus maybe you can obtain the the transaction record from the platform that you did the IBG as a proof of payment?

hi guys, need some opinions, or someone handled this before, my scenario is like this :-
I invest with my salaries/savings into unit trusts (i also hold license as unit trusts agent), so I received commissions.

I report all incomes both salary and the commissions from UT (as amount was not big). Now as years pass by, the amount of commission has grown. My question is, as the commission is mostly from my own investments (from my salary/savings), I see this as getting taxed twice 2x? First time when my salary comes in, then when I invest into UT, the commission is taxed again. Should my money be taxed twice when I invest on my own (with myself as agent)?

Anyone has meet this situation before? Thanks...

my guess,
then the fund house must have reported that commission pay out to you in their financial record, thus reported lesser profits....thus "should" indirectly also reported to LHDN about payment to you...
thus LHDN "should" know about your this "extra" income....

Yep no prob that they know..but my question is, like if u r insurance agent, u buy a plan for urself, then the premium paid is ur commission rite? So its like we use our money taxed money to buy insurance/invest but kena taxed again by doing so...

consider it as your "extra" income

for those that are not an agent,...if they do what you did,...they don't have that "extra" income.
then they don't pay tax for that extra income even if they earn and invest like you do.

Hi all,

Got a random question regarding,

"6.10.2 As the business operations are carried on outside Malaysia, the income is deemed not to be derived from Malaysia and thus not
subject to tax in Malaysia."

http://phl.hasil.gov.my/pdf/pdfam/GUIDELIN...IC_COMMERCE.pdf

If so, do we still need to fill in ezhasil every year as usual? Thanks in advance.
