This is for outdoor water filter, Malaysian but highly suspect the pvdf membrane and body is made in china

They are all made in China. 1 thing that is super suspicious is how would a small pore work without a backwash...sounds too good to be true, unless it is more like a cartridge. Do you have a link?

Needs manual washing, approx 1 time per year instead of backwash.

Some need to be disassembled, take out and rinse.

What do you expect from it? You have sand filter now, if you "upgrade", you will not see any practical difference. They don't do anything better, except on paper. No need to "upgrade"a fully functional filter, don't waste your money

I'm using a JP200 filter in my kitchen
If I want to turn this JP200 into undersink, can it be done?
Or would it be better for me to just get a double housing filter with Sediment filter + Carbon filter?

Thanks!

You definitely can't make that one undersink. And yes, if you are ok with boiling, then sediment + carbon is a good idea, just don't get cheap low quality housings and filters, will cause more harm than good.

Hi all.

We've a new house build. This is a super exciting project for my wife and I as it'll be our first project where we can decide and explore different ideas into creating a eco friendly luxury Airbnb. One of our ideas is a rain water collection system on top of the municipal water.

Attached is the image of how the water comes.

It starts from

1. Syabas water -> membrane filter -> two 300 gallon tanks that we have lying around from a previous project + water from the rain water collection -> 1.5HP water pump -> bathrooms x 4

2. Syabas water -> membrane filter -> 300 liter tank that is also linked to the rain collection system  -> 0.87HP pump -> UV filter -> LG water dispenser for drinking/ RO filter dispenser for cooking

The rain collection system has a bunch of filters too.

1. Roof -> RC gutter -> large item filter -> aquarium sponge filter -> rainwater tank -> pump -> sand filter -> membrane filter -> use tanks
The whole intention behind this is to see if we can scale this for use in a commercial setting.

Any input is much appreciated. We got this plan from Thailand where there is a pretty strong rain water collection community.

I just called SPAN earlier today for the possibility of using rainwater. rainwater requires treatment before you can use it even for toilet flushing and you cannot use the same piping for domestic incoming water.
This makes the cost of using rainwater not commercially feasible.

No expert on this, best consult ur doctor i think. I'd assume RO water is best? Since this way the water contains nothing else other than H2O, so it doesn't worsen the situation hmm.gif

Depending on the type, membrane can filter out smaller particles, but both wouldn't let u skip boiling ur water tho

Might be possible, but since it's not designed to be an undersink, might not perform as intended (the pipes from the filter outlet to the water tap on kitchen top can be contaminated over time)

Dont take RO, it has very Low mineral or no mineral ; your body will leach out mineral from the bone instead (over simplified)

The linked paper reports that 5 water treatment plants (in Iraq) produced water with very low calcium content.
What is water's calcium contribution percentage in relation to our overall diet consisting of meat, fish, dairy, dark leafy vege, & beans (calcium rich food)?

Aside from the human added flouride, what other mineral is water a significant source?

There are water supplies which have arsenic, such as Taiwan, Argentina, Western USA, etc. How to remove the arsenic without RO? Then, there are also countries that desalinate seawater using RO such as Singapore. How to desalinate large amount of seawater without RO?

This is not true, these researches are biased. Water is not a significant source of minerals, in fact it is totally insignificant. Water can't "wash out minerals". RO water is not for everyone based in the taste, but it is totally fine to drink. If you start digging in, you will find out who sponsors all these "ro is bad" researches and what are they based on.

Aquasana is not direct drink. The only 3M that is direct drink, as far as I know is 2500t. Aquaphor is direct drink and at a reasonable price, but why do you want to go countertop and not undersink, any reason?
