Put a bowl there, press a button and takes bout 10mins to complete only, very easy

The question on an “external” water filter is not explicitly clear it was referring to an outdoor filter. In any case, my statements below the questions explained I have an LG Puricare for drinking water purposes and I’m looking for water filters for sinks (and maybe bathrooms) which do not need to be drinkable water. Primarily I’m looking at reducing the water hardness in the current water supply.

There are only 2 ways to reduce hardness - RO or ion exchange with salt regeneration. Ion exchange means you will be replacing Ca and Mg with Na, which is then not recommended to drink (not good for your heart). So you need to NOT send this water to your water filter. It is hard to get something like that in Malaysia, especially with the regeneration. Without regeneration it will last for like 1000L...
