You do regular back wash, is ok. There also the timer will do daily 1min back wash. My mom membrane filter already more than 5 years. Only recently the piping outside leaking, and the timer die plus membrane need replacement so plan to try other small.  I remember membrane is about 400+ few years back.

And btw, my mom house piping not ugly, is all about how the installer do for you.

Is depend the space, how is being installed and was the preparation work done earlier for filtration piping or not. There are plumber installing it "cincai" and look ugly there plumber installing it neat and nice. If I sell a product, i can give you a neat completed product photo to market to you.

You can take photo of how your incoming are, and consult the filter seller or installer, ask them draw how the piping flow or you can plan your own and ask them to confirm if it work.

Forgot already, many years back got it from expo, and they came install, after that did chemical backwash for few time. Now lost the contact and didn't came do chemical back wash. Thinking to change for other type to try out.

thanks, i will ask the installer to draw out for me, we have water pump plus a water tank, water pressure is poor here. so the water will go through filter then into the tank then pump out into the house.

might settle for rubine, its cheaper. but for rubine i don't know where to find people to do chemical back wash, they just introduce a plumber to install the filter for me, he is just a regular plumber.

you should check out Filken, they look impressive,

All structure is made by these OEM. Brand differential is by custom casing and filler. Piece of advise, keep it simple, dont fall for gimmick and pay more attention on how to make installation compact and nice looking.

wow the installation is really ugly!  what is difference between hollow fibre membrane and Multipore membrane?
a lot of sales man selling the sand filter tells me membrane gets clogged easily and expensive to change the filter cartridge. ( around 500 not including plumber cost)

I need to decide soon, want to finish reno and move in to the house.

still messy compared to Multipore, thatz y i suggest ask the seller show some photos and explain then compare, look at the actual products and snap some photos to compare, that would be even better smile.gif

1) First link did not install timer (less thing) the messy pipes as actually is on the right which forumers might overlook in the photo, hence looks neater

2) 2nd link if you notice, 4 valves are missing they did not do bypass and backwash function, short cut smile.gif

Wow Filken RM 2400, MultiPore is nicer, cheaper and also using the latest membrane system smile.gif

Currently in malaysia, Coway is using multipore system also not many companies have it yet because cost exp, margin low

Your photo is also bias, one with the meter together hence is look more complex, another is meter are behind. The by bass valve can be on the other side of the wall.

And BTW the green timer if add in is not going to be and complex. I have the exact timer it can do manual back wash with just the button press, therefore is as good as just swap the manual valve with the Green timer, or just extend the tap to have extra timer, i don't see any complexity.

lol, thatz y i ask forumers to check some photos with the seller make sure u have a backwash and bypass function in the piping system as well.

If u think with all the PVC pipe is not complex and still look good and willing to pay more for it, then that is your choice smile.gif

even with the best photos that u tried to find online, they all also have all the complex PVC pipes even though they shortcut didnt include bypass and backwash piping

Quoting back your original message "Most of the membrane filters in malaysia are HOLLOW FIBRE MEMBRANE and they look like this after installation" is just pure sales message. While the photo i shown is to show nothing similar to what your quote of "Most of the membrane filters in malaysia are HOLLOW FIBRE MEMBRANE and they look like this after installation"

My point is to proof not all installation look like what you claim to be.

QUOTE(zheilwane @ May 18 2017, 04:46 PM)
u may wanna ask them to show u how the filter looks like after installation...

Most of the membrane filters in malaysia are HOLLOW FIBRE MEMBRANE and they look like this after installation (on the left) while we actually got our supplier to manufacture a better design (on the right) with new generation membrane MultiPore system
