For those driving HS is it worth paying RM1300 to SC to upgrade your MZD for navigation? Are the maps up to date and can you find landmarks easily? I know can use a smartphone but it's never pleasant to get a call when you are navigating.

Not recommended as the Navi sucks. hahaha... While apps such as Google Maps or Waze allows you to key in "Sunway Pyramid", the Navi in Mazda requires you to enter full address, in eg as below.

Street Name: Jalan PJS11/15
Postcode: 46150
Town/City: Petaling Jaya
States: KUALA LUMPUR

I find it is very lousy to use. If you have the full address, then it would be useful to someone like my dad, who doesn't has data or using smartphone. I helped him to set the destination, and he just drive accordingly.. nod.gif

About answering phone calls, I am actually pairing it to MZD (bluetooth). I find it useful when I am driving and there is incoming calls. So when there is incoming calls, I will just use the MZD to answer.

But it will be different story when you are fetching your friends or somebody else, you may not want to disclose who is calling you or the content. Who knows mana satu awek or amoi wrongly call your number... tongue.gif

Walau, this is very inconvenient to use. You need to get the full address first to set the destination. In that case may as well use Waze or Google Map and hopefully a cheap mirrorlink solution can be found in future.

I think GPS should make it standard. Not charge for spec.
But, it's driver choice to go for it or not. I find it Waze or Google Maps are better off.

nope you dont have to key in all the address. sorry i dont have car with me now to screen shot, but there is a place u just need to key in the name like "sunway" it will show you the nearest related sunway to the further sunway.

if you get connected to your 3G phone, it will tell the traffic situation, i've yet try this out smile.gif

kluseng, I haven't try the method as told by david.tth, but there is another method is you search for nearest point, then on the map you drag around and set the destination point. This method is without entering full address.

david.tth, do provide some guidance too.. I just too lazy to discover how to use it. About the traffic thing, I've been connecting my hotpost. But the option is disabled and nowhere i can find other option to activate the traffic thing.

I'm driving the GL also and I think RM1200 not worth to put in the navigation. May as well get an 8" Android tablet for less than RM500, connect to your phone's hotspot and use Google or Waze. The MZD screen is a good place to clip the tablet.

If no data can also use offline Here maps.

Been thinking about this but not done it yet. biggrin.gif

I find it cool that it actually pairs with the HUD. Wasn't expecting to see the arrows & what not there.

But map wise, definitely can't beat google maps. It won't be as updated. I was heading to KLIA 2, and it wasn't in the map.

I'm sure you can search via POI, if it's a significant landmark?

Speed up takde... but slow down got.. the sound more likely to "yi~~~~~~" then slowly become quiet.

Bro kluseng, tested the Navigation "search by POI" function.. It can search nearby Places which registered on the map. Quite convenient I would say, but I still prefer using smart phones for the real time updates.

LoL... Zoom Zoom become Yi~~~~~~ hahaha...

I dont take it seriously. Not an annoying sound but also doesnt sound something serious is going to happen. Maybe something is recharging? or rubbing happen? Will ask SC if it become louder and passenger could heard it..

Install HID ka? I don't know eh.. I don't recommend shop to ppl. As every customer tends to have different experience when doing purchasing. What is good to me might not be fine to you.

But do send PM to some good reputation sellers here. Like Howie from EA autoworks, and Shorty5. This is what I know in lowyat forum only. May as well wait for other member's opinion.

Hi, did anyone of you do coating on your lovely Mazda 3? May I know what coating you do and what is the price?

I have found Ceramic Pro (Silver Package-RM2399), Nanolex (Standard Package-RM1799), Gtechniq (RM2199). Not sure which to choose.

I am looking for a reliable shop to do a coating on my car. Anyone has good experience to share?

cant get a definte answer for this

personally i did not do coating, cause it doesnt protect from stone chips (anyone claim it does is either cheating or bluffing)
i would suggest to coat your car if it is arctic white for PAINT PROTECTION & minor scratches

i've heard review for all 3 coatings, they are all not too bad
not sure what is the package u mentioned above

other options u can consider is Sierra Blue Flame treatment (1600-1800) last time i heard

Congratulations, welcome to the club rclxms.gif

Remember to go to petrol station and check the tyre pressure after collecting the car, SC may overfill or neglect to fill to proper pressure. Just fill anywhere in between 260kpa to 280kpa (if you carry full load constantly, go up to 300-320kpa). Mine came with filled to the MAXIMUM recommended pressure and heck, freaking bumpy laugh.gif
