QUOTE(red_scorpion @ Jun 28 2015, 11:57 PM) even you qualified for 100kpa, but these few years bank negara strict rule caused the bank measure your credit card application according to normal loan application. If debt ratio to net income is >65~75%, chance to get reject is very high... So for high commitment ppl, please clear some of the outstanding loan. Oh yea, outstanding amount from balance transfer is consider as commitment as well <-- according to banker my debt ratio to income > 90% it's the other way round for me, no problem to apply any credit card, then when applying loan, I need to bring all credit card past 6 months statement for the manager to submit HQ to get my loan approved. p/s: I have 11 cc from 7 banks

Some dato dato with brink of bankruptcy also can get loan as long as they are top of food chain. Some Ali Muthu or Ah beng will not get loan eventhough their statement are perfectly clean. Nothing is fair in banking sector as well.

LOL there are someone reported here before he manage to get waive AF for certain card from MBB.. i think quite a numerous of ppl get waive but just keep to themselves if you post it out, MBB might not waive in future again..

argh, too bad for maybank..
i also plan to terminate the card after august...however, realized that i still have BT, Ezypay and also agoda(pay later)..
just check with the branch, they are not aware of this yet(no more 5% rebate in aug)..
my ikhwan cc application have been rejected twice before this, the staff said that i can convert my mbb2cards to ikhwan, but all BT and ezypay have to be fully settle first...
now, i will wait for all my installment finished before converting..not sure my amex and visa points will be transferred to ikhwan or not...ikhwan is only 1 card right?

Done some readups on alternatives to my current Maybank 2 cards.
What attracts me the most currently are:
1. PB Visa Signature - Cashback + Lounge benefits. 2. HLB Essential - No frills cashback - michaelho thanks for pointing this out! 3. CIMB Cash Rebate - Relatively no frills cashback.
Briefly considered HLB WISE - but the RM50 and 10 transaction thing is cumbersome. HLB Mach is simply too complicated for my puny brain. Initially was considering HSBC, until I read up on how their fee waiver and customer service was like.
Haven't yet checked on RHB and Alliance Bank though.
Addendum: Alliance Bank Visa Platinum looks good too.

You should consider HLB Essential (unlimited 1% cash rebate on everything except petrol) instead of OCBC Titanium. OCBC Titanium is not worth carrying at all, just my 2 cents This post has been edited by michaelho: Jun 29 2015, 10:37 AM
