Since MBB is gonna restrict 5% on dining only and I max my MBB Amex for TM bills all these while, I think PBB Visa Signature will be a much better bet now as the capped amount is RM60 per month and at 6% cashback. Why did I miss this card all along? It seems to be a better choice than 5% Amex is offering , even without the restriction. Or did I miss something? This PBB VS can pay TM bills via Payonline and still entitled to 6% , right?

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jun 29 2015, 12:49 AM) QUOTE(victorywp @ Jun 29 2015, 12:50 AM) yeah thanks for info. I am aware of the income requirement. Will try my luck applying and use solely for TM bills if approve. Then it would only 3 cards for me :PBB VS (if can get approval) : TM bills via Payonline HLB WISE : Groceries / Petrol while Wife's Wise : Groceries / Syabas / TNB HLB Essential : for every other things This post has been edited by michaelho: Jun 29 2015, 12:08 AM |

QUOTE(Enigmatic @ Jun 29 2015, 11:24 AM) Done some readups on alternatives to my current Maybank 2 cards. You should consider HLB Essential (unlimited 1% cash rebate on everything except petrol) instead of OCBC Titanium. OCBC Titanium is not worth carrying at all, just my 2 centsWhat attracts me the most currently are: 1. PB Visa Signature - Cashback + Lounge benefits. 2. OCBC Titanium - No frills cashback. 3. CIMB Cash Rebate - Relatively no frills cashback. Briefly considered HLB WISE - but the RM50 and 10 transaction thing is cumbersome. HLB Mach is simply too complicated for my puny brain. Initially was considering HSBC, until I read up on how their fee waiver and customer service was like. Haven't yet checked on RHB and Alliance Bank though. QUOTE(herc @ Jun 29 2015, 12:27 PM) Actually for u all to consider HLB Essential, why not HLB Fortune? After hitting max CB from MBB2Amex, this Because for me and wife, we have our spendings spread across 2 x Wise and 2 x MBB2, that is 4k monthly spending already, so HLB Essential is just a back up, won't qualify for the minimum RM2000 per month |

QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Jun 29 2015, 04:25 PM) I look thru a few thread here. Nothing seems good except for those VS level card. Those all need 100k income to qualify. QUOTE(fruitie @ Jun 29 2015, 04:44 PM) 100k, I still need some time to reach there... PBB VS said pledge FD RM35K can apply already, good option.Looks like I will need to accept my boss' offer to be posted to Philippines for a short term assignment and earn some money, so that it will touch 100k per annum. Else, I really can't fully maximize my bills. |

QUOTE(szaku89 @ Jun 29 2015, 05:38 PM) QUOTE(fruitie @ Jun 29 2015, 05:38 PM) yes 100 freaking K, with a foreign bank. Dont want put name here .Actually happened about 3-4 years back, I have actually cancelled the card with ABC bank less than 6 months ago but before CNY that year , I 'si fatt han' logged in into my online banking to see . SHOCKED to see an outstanding of RM100K . All the transactions were for a bogus computer company, and the mailing add was for an address in Cheras, To cut story short, police reports ensued and all the dingdongs with ABC bank and BNM, they made investigation (there is this house in Cheras but no occupant) and the fact I had cancel the card less than 6 months (no re-issue within 6 months I guess) etc, I finally got my case settled within a few 'sleepless' months. Is advisable to go BNM to print out your CCRIS report every now and then, better be safe than sorry This post has been edited by michaelho: Jun 29 2015, 05:09 PM |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Jul 26 2015, 11:19 PM) 5x reward point = about 1.25% cashback. 1.25% is useless CB. Other cards offer better benefits. Previosuly M2C was the best. 5%CB+1.25%TP +2-3% (if you follow Gen-X's tricks) for me, it is still better than HLB Essential 1% la, so will still use AMEX until I apply for PBB VS. Will miss ya, 5% CB, you have served me well |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Jul 27 2015, 01:00 AM) Actually you can use Maybank Ikhwan (5% for petrol and groceries on Fri & Sat), HLB Wise (10% after swiping 10x with each swipe = RM50), Aeon Watami (3% if you can spend RM3000/quater), and Ambank True (3% for all online transaction). No need to use M2C. My Amex was always maxed for TM bills only. I have HLB Essential (for all other spendings) & 2 Wise cards (for petrol & groceries/TM & Syabas ). So pretty much covered already. Aeon Watami (scared cannot hit and also hard to monitor, monitoring Wise card (me & wife's) already make me Must study this Ambank True and see whether can use to pay bills or not. Ambank True sounds good, will get more info on this card. but webpage mention nothing about 3% http://ambank.com.my/eng/cards/true |
