I think there is no other credit card in this section that can go this far. Version 14, my fourth year of using and no complaint except the TP inflation over the years...

Just started to use and TP inflate already :'(

But so far still satisfied with the service provided by MBB.

Nice credit card indeed for a fresh person like me.

No worries, it is still one of the best cards in the market which everyone should have in their wallet. smile.gif

gratz for the new version.
got a newbie question :
i apply for the maybank 2 cards thru online last 2 month ago n got rejected.
my salary RM2.4k(not fulfill RM30k annual), working for almost a year after graduate.
i wish to reapply thru branch, will the application go thru / just reject like last time?
*
If your salary hasn't been increased, then most likely it will be rejected as well.
Well, you can pledge fixed deposit for this card. Someone mentioned it is RM 5k for Gold card.

One important notice as I just came back from TGV Sunway Piramid

- Thursday buy 1 free 1 - now only accept credit card, no more debit card. Moviegoers can buy Thursday B1F1 tix anyday of the week. (limit to 2 free tix per card. for M2c, then 4 tix if use 2 cards)

- Saturday buy 1 free 1, moviegoers can only buy on Saturday using ONLY Visa card. (free only 1 tix, but somehow I manage to buy as many as I like. hopefully maintain same, smile.gif )

- Sunday buy 1 free 1, same as above, only Sunday.

The Saturday and sunday Buy 1 free 1 is only for May & June promotion. Hopefully they will extend it.

They changed a lot since TGV offer came out on 2014. sad.gif

That is a good news that it applies to every day. I don't think it's updated anywhere for this piece of news.

Yes, certain authorized Rolex dealers in KL do accept Maybankard 2 AMEX for 0% Installment Plan and you won't be charge a single sen "surcharge" and still entitled to standard discount rate (non-sport models), i.e. you pay cash or use Maybankard 2 AMEX 0% Installment Plan also you pay same price.

If you very free, click here to read my article A Little Bit Of This and A Little Bit OF That - Volume I, Chapter VIII where I mentioned I wanted to use my Maybank 2 Cards Premier AMEX to buy a Rolex GMT Batman (because it offer better Enrich Miles conversion of TP versus Maybankard 2 AMEX) but I burst my Maybank CC credit limit (and that's with increase in Temporary CL before even buying the watch) and ended up using my UOB Visa instead, hahaha. But Maybank really good, I ask for another Temporary increase in CL of RM50K around noon and they call me to inform me it was approved at around 6.30pm.

Not only Rolex, you can use Maybankard 2 AMEX to buy GIA diamonds at Wah Chan and Poh Kong with 0% Installment too.
On the contrary, for "substantial sum" purchases, if I have the option of 0% Installment Plan, I will definitely opt for it (or going with 0% Balance Transfer) as I can use the cash and deposit into FD and earn some interest instead of parting with my cash upfront. Click here to read my article titled Earn More Free Money with the Right Fixed Deposit.

Me on another hand doesn't like installment and BT. I was "forced" to take installment when Maybank had discount for RM 300 for iPhone 6 last year. The feeling of paying RM 4++ every month for 6 months is not nice. Then I itchy butt went and applied BT and 1k+ every month for 6 months. Finally these two have ended in May and June, now I'm a free girl. Don't want to be tied with this kind of obligation anymore.

After much begging, I did managed to get a "place" at the very last minute for the Maybank EpiCentre event and got the iPhone 6 for RM300 less  biggrin.gif However, what you said above is very true, I have mentioned several times before it is not worth the effort to perform BT for amount less than RM10K to go earn miserable interest and be in debt. 0% Installment Plans and Balance Transfer Plans can be a very dangerous tools for those who have no cash on hand to pay in full.

For those new to credit cards - click here to read my article 0% Installment Plan with Credit Cards - It IS A Trap and click here to read my article Balance Transfer Plans - Facts You Need To Know.

Yes, that kind of pain is really not nice and I suspect it has affected my credit exposure as well. sad.gif Now time to build back the credibility... sad.gif

was at TGV OU yesterday. thought wan to Q at MBB priority lane, but so many people. Q normal lane faster!

Brought the normal price RM16 movie tic instead.
while waiting to charge my Amex, i asked and confirmed with rempit counter boy deal on MBB card.

Everyday RM10 apply to movie before 6pm.
Imax Buy1Free1 on Thursday - the rempit counter boy said its restricted to few front rows seats.  shocking.gif  shocking.gif
never go Imax before, thus  shocking.gif
*
Apparently my colleague who is a movie addict told me, yes the RM 10 for front rows only happen in 1U. The rest of TGVs have no such restriction, we have watched few times in KLCC, no issue at all.

Credit card newbie here. Just one question (I've searched but can't find the answer).

Is it worth it to use the credit card for merchants that charge 2% service fee on weekends? Since we get 5% cashback, simplest calculation would mean we can get 3% cashback (5% minus 2% service fee), which is still a plus rather than using cash to pay.

Is that calculation correct? I just want to know if it's better to pay by cash or credit card for merchants that charge 2% fee
*
Yes, still worth and you get 5xTP as well. smile.gif

Here's my case with All-It at Low Yat Plaza -

I bought a ACER V Nitro gaming notebook late last year. For ALL-IT case, if you are getting a Windows notebook, it usually comes with freebies. I opted not to receive the FREE gifts and I was given more than RM100 discount of RRP. Other ACER dealers in Low Yat Plaza was not offering discount but selling at RRP but none have stock anyway since it was in great demand. So the discount was more than enough to offset the extra 2% surcharge for 0% installment plan. If you use AMEX for 0% EPP, I think you'll be imposed 3% instead of 2%.

Click here to read my article about my son's ACER V Nitro i7 12GB NVIDIA GTX860M with Twin blowers

Now, I also did buy a Apple MacBook Air for my daughter in April this year at All-IT, once again opted not to receive any FREE gift and there is no discount for Apple MAcBook Air BUT I was not imposed any surcharge with 0% Installment Plan with my MBB VI.
*
MacBook Air can straight go to Epicenter and Harvey Norman, redeem TPs and pay with AmEx. brows.gif

Hi guys. Planning to apply this card this weekend at the card centre in KLCC. But I wonder if its able to process the application on weekend or do I need to go on weekdays only? Hope you guys can enlighten me on this issue.

thanks
*
KLCC no longer issues cards within 60 minutes. If you want to submit forms, yes that's possible because it is also opened during weekends but not for fast card issuance. 1U still has 60 minutes.
When I was in Gardens to redeem vouchers few months ago, I overheard a conversation between the officer and a customer, she told him they will do fast card issuance on weekdays, not sure how true is that.

Yeah. My best friend bought an iPad Mini 3 64GB before 1st April for only RM 1399, courtesy of my TP redemption. I redeemed 200 bucks from HN, she's so happy. laugh.gif Actually most of the time, she was the one spending for me so the points were collected by her. tongue.gif

Went to ALL IT as that time my daughter was considering either a Windows notebook or MacBook Air. Harvey Norman did not have the Windows Notebook she was considering.

Anyway, nowadays I only convert my TP to Enrich to fly Business Class as it gives me "more in returns" compared to vouchers.

Those who are interested to redeem Enrich Miles (or KrisFlyer Miles), please click here to read my Comprehensive Review of The Best Credit Cards for Redeeming Frequent Flyer Miles.

In the above mentioned tutorial, you will learn that with the Maybankard 2 AMEX, you will earn 1 Enrich Mile for every RM2.12 spent. So, for example, if you do spend RM2500 per  month with the Maybankard 2 Cards AMEX, within 3 years you would have earned 42,452 Enrich Miles where you can upgrade an Economy Class ticket to London (one way) versus redeeming RM1,125 cash voucher (400TP = RM1). Well upgrade to Business Class to London (12 hours direct) is definitely worth more than RM1.1K. That is if MBB and or Enrich do not inflate their redemption in the future  tongue.gif

For your info, Enrich Miles can be used to redeem flights with other airlines under the One World Umbrella.
All IT did offer me a RM50 voucher for the MacBook Air but I chose not to accept it but instead go with 0% Installment Plan with no additional surcharge using my MBB VI. But if one willing to pay in full for the MBA, he/she might get the FREE RM50 voucher or other Free gift at ALL IT.

The thing with Harvey Norman Windows notebook - I have gotten discount from them twice BUT then cannot opt for 0% installment plan. Can only opt for 0% Installment Plan if pay RRP price.
*
Well, redeeming EM is good but no good for me, I can afford the tickets but not trip expenses. tongue.gif
I just wait for business trips where company pays for my expenses and tickets. tongue.gif

QUOTE(kira_88 @ Jun 21 2015, 09:08 AM)
Thanks. Meaning only 1U have fast card issuance and it can only be done in weekdays right?

I think weekends is also possible. You can try. smile.gif

Interbank transfer a.k.a. GIRO from RHB online. It only costs RM 0.10 or RM 0.50 for instant transfer.

Have anyone tried upgrading M2C Amex gold to platinum via credit card center?
Can get it within a same working day?

Or is it advisable to just call CS and apply through this method?
fruitie i remember you upgraded yours right?
*
I walked in to KLCC card centre.
Nope, for upgrade will never get within the same working day. smile.gif
Expect some days for that.

I'm not sure if can upgrade over the phone, I straight walked in though.

Put it simple, KLCC RHB and Maybank 1U have the embossing machine. They can emboss on the spot. Once my RHB card was approved, she immediately went into a room and requested her staff to make me one. Within 5 minutes I have already. laugh.gif

Even I think KLCC Maybank has too because they used to issue within an hour too. The machine is still there actually. For my upgrade case, Maybank CS called me that my card is already approved, within half and hour I received call from KLCC branch that it is ready for collection. I went there and collected on the same day, I asked and they said they have the machine there.

The person actually already knows my IC no., name, and home address though. I did not give any info regarding my bank a.c no.
Maybank customer service said that it is quite possibly from their telesales department. But has anyone here received a call-in promo like that recently?
*
Received similar call 4 years ago when this card was just introduced in the market. It was legit for me and I got the card without sending anything.

Well, you can always proceed so long you don't furnish more information from your end.

Mine was, they did call to my company for employment confirmation. smile.gif
