Apply credit card on the weekend is no possible to get the card on the same day because No ppl in HQ working to approve your credit card.

Cant, fruitie applied through card centre as well by showing documents of salary slip to show salary achieved requirements. Normally will take 1 week to get the card provided all documents are in order.

Instant card approval at places like 1 Utama credit card center is possible.
Basically there is an automated algorithm in their system that can advise approval (or otherwise) within seconds.

Likewise on how I got my RHB card on a Sunday within 20 minutes.

Nope, for upgrade will never get within the same working day.
Expect some days for that.

I'm not sure if can upgrade over the phone, I straight walked in though.

I am agreed that u can do it for RHB CC.

But, if maybank have the system to approve the CC without human to approve, why only 1U have it and not other card center (like the card center at garden)?

definitely not same-day expect 1 week. need to walk-in cuz they need you to submit documents and fill up forms (for me, at least). treat it like a new application, although it's an upgrade.

approval might not be the problem sometimes..
issuance of card is the problem.. card embossing machine not cheap and not cost effective to put at every branch..
if you not aware, issuance of card are done by third party company and not handle by bank itself

furthermore, credit card printing and chip perso is very strict due to EMV rules and regulations, hance an approved 3rd-party company to produce.

RHB are embossed the cc by themselve on the spot without getting third party help
