Put it simple, KLCC RHB and Maybank 1U have the embossing machine. They can emboss on the spot. Once my RHB card was approved, she immediately went into a room and requested her staff to make me one. Within 5 minutes I have already.

Even I think KLCC Maybank has too because they used to issue within an hour too. The machine is still there actually. For my upgrade case, Maybank CS called me that my card is already approved, within half and hour I received call from KLCC branch that it is ready for collection. I went there and collected on the same day, I asked and they said they have the machine there.

Hi guys, probably not the right thread but since it does concern Maybank, just have a question.

Is it true that there is a promo going on now where Maybank is giving out free Visa/Mastercard + American Express CC?
I got a call from them (03-22046688) earlier this morning regarding this. It sounded like a scam, but then again I had no CC with Maybank nor did the person asked me anything regarding of my bank acc. no.
Only said I was eligible for the promo.

Called Maybank customer service and they did say that there is a promo like that going on right now, but they cannot confirm the number as it is a telesales line or something?

Any info regarding this will be appreciated.

this is pre-approval card for you..
if you agreed, they will proceed with issuing the CC to you..

The person actually already knows my IC no., name, and home address though. I did not give any info regarding my bank a.c no.
Maybank customer service said that it is quite possibly from their telesales department. But has anyone here received a call-in promo like that recently?

Received similar call 4 years ago when this card was just introduced in the market. It was legit for me and I got the card without sending anything.

So, safe to say the call was legit then?

Did do a search on this number 03-60246688 and results are like 50/50. Some say legit, some say it's scam. So scam and legit promos from the same number...

Well, you can always proceed so long you don't furnish more information from your end.

Mine was, they did call to my company for employment confirmation.

If you still worrying of this phone call whether is scam or not.

You can direct apply from card center if interested, easy and fast take the card if approved.

Thing is, I don't really need the card. I know it's free annual fee and GST, buy already have 3 CC, don't need another 2 more. So was just curious to know if the call was legit or not, whether my info has fallen to the wrong hands.

What card are you having now?
This is currently one of the best cards in the market.

Ambank Plat, HSBC signature, UOB Plat.

I don't think any of these cards is better than Maybankard2Cards.

Anyway, the choice is yours.

most of the benefit in m2c card are for AMEX only...

visa is still getting 1 x point with no CB....

i know u will say "alot" of merchant start accept AMEX..but how many compare to daily usage card.?

i think now almost all major retailers/brands are using amex edi..i have no prob maximising my cb and treatpoints

with m2c u always pay with amex 1st although its not wiken coz of the 5x TP....during wiken for 5% cb

If you are not convince with the list and happy with the card you have. No point to change/get the new card

if you staying at klang valley, i dont see why u cannot use AMEX on daily usage..
petrol, supermarket, deparmental store are widely accepting AMEX nowadays..

unless you staying up north or east malaysia

The card i compliment M2K AMEX with was Alliance Platinum Cash Back. The master / visa just keep in cooler box la

Other than that, i think HLB Wise, AEON Watami offer some good rebates too but with some t&c.

back to the main point which is 'know you spending pattern' and then choose the credit cards that can maximise cash rebates from your necessary spending.

I'm just saying as well because I have gained so much benefits from Maybank cards and redeemed different vouchers and discounts.

Even my overseas friends envy at my MBB2Cards, my foreigner colleagues who work here also applied for this card and they love them.

Anyway, just my view la. I don't earn a single cent from Maybank.

Yes, we are in KL and most of the places I go accept AmEx. When I was in Germany, all the places I went accept AmEx. So happy.

if your friend from USA, then it will be the oppposite..
we will envy them back since their card provide more better sign-up benefit than us..
