Hi sifus, does anybody know can i place an fd at a branch and nominate to uplift in another branch on maturity? If so, can this be done for both board rates, promo rates and finance company like mbsb ?

I'm currently working in one city but in a year's time very likely will be in another state.

the promo ends at end of Oct...cannot be so early reach target..i need to move my OCBC to this UOB promo at 30th Oct..finger crossed

Placed some funds at UOB yesterday, 12 months 4.2%. First time uob customer, so took about 30 mins to open fd account. So many forms to fill in by the officer. Also, apparently residential address must be within 10 km of the branch otherwise can't open. Initially wanted to use my hometown address, but not allowed.

Asked for 4.25% but denied. No free gifts too. Promo rates till 31 October, 3 months 3.9%, 6 months 4.0%, 9 months 4.1% 12 months 4.2% (not 100% sure about the 3,6,9 months, just glance the pamphlet). This is not step up, choose the term.

I asked about nominating another branch to uplift. Was told no need since can withdraw any branch. Also, I asked to split fd to a few denominations but officer again say no need, can withdraw any amount anytime and they will recalculate interest on remaining sum. Certificate-less fd. I'm really noob. Only second time place fd. The other day place maybank 5+5 came with certificate, only can withdraw at placement branch.

They also sign me up Wealth Banking or something, get relationship manager and priority counter minus other benefits of premier banking.

Can the STEP UP FD be withdrawn at the end of 9th or 12th month without lossing the interest, as published?

Why you wanted to ask this even with MBB step-up ? tongue.gif

I did not ask as no intention of doing so. PBB wise for their step-up, no issue. But for HL case, cannot find any detailed T & C. Seems to say refer to std banking rules. So I am not sure likely like normal FD rules if you terminate before end of step-up terms. biggrin.gif

7.8% with UT?

Yes, the one that RHB was offering with ASNB. End of the 6 mths 7.8% FD. rclxms.gif

Bro, I just got back yesterday and headed straight to my watch dealer - no time to read any posts here yet to update Post #1.

It's a new month and we can expect some new FD Promos. This thread is close to 2500 post and time for a new thread. And you rightly pointed out recently that Post#1 has not been updated frequently (as I was away most of the time). And I will be flying off again next week. Therefore, I won't be starting new V.10.

I propose that cybpsych takes over this thread and start V.10 immediately as many times he was the first to highlight many of the new FD promos.

And Bro Ramjade, as for the nonsense claim, well, what you said about the GTR is true because there is not such card, hahahaha. That article Maybank 3 Cards was written for the benefit of those new to credit card and to highlight to them that they can get really good cash back from FREE FOR LIFE credit cards. So, for those new to credit cards, click here and read about the nonsense but FREE FOR LIFE Maybank 3 Cards GTR.

Anyway, for those who just bought a Rolex, or thinking of getting one - click here to my Facebook page to read what I posted yesterday night.

Welcome back High/Frequent Flyer !! notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

I will be taking time to read your Facebook post about London trip etc. Have read your FD blog.

As to banker's cheque (for FD related),

For MBB, charge is free before, now is RM0.53 per banker's cheque from FD.

For PBB, charge is RM0.68 deduct from FD principal. If not RM6 !!

aiya captain, small kauci like me only look-see-look-see from online, then report back for sharing (or referencing).

some masters here calling RMs and visiting branches, they more qualify to be TS  thumbup.gif

Bro, you the best person to go start new thread.

It's not about who got more more RMs or more time to go waste at the banks but willing to share and willingly waste his/her time to compile member's reporting in a systematic layout for Post#1. And in CC section you have proven yourself to be a great TS where you list out the necessary info in Post#1.

So, I beg you to go start a new thread now before some one go start V.10 and start posting here as if this thread is like a chat room, hahahaha.

Guys, is it true that HLB is not issuing saving passbook anymore for new saving account opening?? Tried to open saving account for fd placement but was told now they only give debit card and we have to use their internet banking to check our account.

Super weird to me. First time hearing bank not issuing saving passbook anymore.

I believe is quite common now a days most of the bank don't have pass book anymore. We are forced to get a debit card and be charged min RM8 per annum.
As far as I know Public Bank still able to issue a pass book.

Wanna ask...

What's the difference between transfering money:-
Case 1. person A to person A (different bank)
Case 2. person A to person B (different bank)

Q:-
Q1. Is there any difference in terms of method (i.e. GIRO/Banker's cheque, etc)?
Q2. Is there any difference in terms of fee charges (i.e GIRO/Banker's cheque, etc)?
Q3. Are all the banks have the same charges or varies?
Q4. Among all the above methods, which is the cheapest option for Case 1 and Case 2?
