QUOTE(cybpsych @ Jul 27 2015, 11:13 AM) if the exclusion is MCC-based... a) Mobile Bill Payment (MCC 4813, 4814) b) Utilities (MCC 4900) c) Insurance (MCC 5960, 6300) ... how do you define "online transactions"? Hi @cybpsych, Online transactions shall include purchases you make online (excluding telco payments, utilities and insurance) such as booking flights online, ordering from shopping websites such as Lazada/Zalora/ebay, etc.

No. What it meant is you can withdraw for free from any atm in Malaysia without charge. The 6th one will be charged. How much will it be charged, I don't know. Unless it's from ambank atm then moat likely is free.

I know the following categories are excluded: -

Which category does Astro belongs to?

Unsuccessful attempt in trying to register for this AmBank's True Savers account via their link: http://www.truebyambank.com/trueproducts/Pages/index.aspxSeems like AmBank's online portal is full of errors of some kind (eg. error message from their website when I tried clicking on the online registration form to register for True Savers account for example; tried doing it during office hours also no difference...) Finally, I drove over to the AmBank's branch & request to open True Savers account (already filled up & signed the required form)..., but I was then notified that I "may not be eligible" to open True Savers account when/if I am not working/have a full-time job with a company, or a student studying in college for example... (Yes, I am not employed & already graduated from uni, but I am doing some kind of freelance, some part time direct sales like, & some passive-income things online, so how...) (So they told me that they would have to see how..., about whether the manager can approve my registration or not... Have to wait & see...) I wonder is it normal for the procedure to be like that...? --- This post has been edited by kEITh_22b: Oct 1 2015, 05:34 PM

When you are called, tell them you want to open Truesavers, fill up the form, sign and wait. You do not need to go back and forth to ambank. Just wait there until they process finished.

I just told them that I am a student attending some part time classes , so they then told me to produce a letter (from the institution that I'm studying at) to indicate that I am a student... (But actually my classes haven't even commence yet, & then I may also decide NOT to register/attend this classes at all... So I won't be able to provide any letter indicating that I am a student... Unless I just provide them with my past university's student ID card & see whether they can accept it or not...) But anyway they-Ambank took my True Savers registration form & told me to wait for their manager's approval... --- This post has been edited by kEITh_22b: Oct 1 2015, 06:23 PM

I drove over to AmBank's branch to inquire about my True Savers account application once again, but the bank officer told me that seeking approval needs time (!)... I successfully opened a Maybank2u savings account (with almost 2.5% interest credited monthly) online, & it took me less than 10 minutes for the process to be completed. (Now I already transferred most of my savings into M2u savers.) Recently I also went over to Hong Leong's bank branch to open a savings account there as well, & the whole process only took less than 10 minutes. BTW, I would be taking a look at OCBC's Premier Savings Account (3.0% interest). --- This post has been edited by kEITh_22b: Oct 2 2015, 05:49 PM

Any withdrawal will cause the interest to drop to 0.5% for that month. Better you put 1 month maybank Islamic efd at 3.25% if like that. Go to another ambank branch. Don't talk anything. Just fill up the form ans sign.
