any sifus can review Patriot Blast 256 SSD? Only 369, cheapest in my town right now.

You can check many online reviews, and most of all, 560mbps in such a price, you better get Kingston HyperX 3k, cost 10-20 more only, save you from headache.

Reliability over price bro.

A copy of Newegg's user review: Reviews on other e-retailers forums showed this to be a future brick. This model uses inferior nand technology (TLC).

Hi guys. What would you say is the best budget ssd nowadays? Is it still the liteon?
*
please check out the price list from retail and garage sales. there are new stuff, like samsung 750.

QUOTE(nuekkacak @ Jan 27 2016, 01:41 PM)
hi guys.. i have one question regarding sata slot.. my desktop rig have 6 sata slot.. my liteon ssd connect to sata no 6.. but the performance really too slow (like loading window) compare to my laptop.. is sata slot have effect on ssd speed?

i feel like using hdd like before.. tqvm for your reply..
*
if it's an intel-based mobo, check your mobo manual and identify the intel sata ports. it's better to connect your ssd to intel sata ports.

QUOTE(ruffstuff @ Jan 27 2016, 02:24 PM)
I heard the 950pro also the nand gets pretty hot.  The 750s last time i heard, loading windows is slower than non nvme sata ssd.
These are nvme enterprise ssd right? Macam interested.
*
no, the nand chip are not hot. it's the controller that gets hot fast under certain conditions. for common usage, it should be fine.

HI, by big capacity I guess you mean 480gb-512gb..(?)...most of all, reliability/price must be well balanced, otherwise you are going to regret your investment xD... So Kingston SSDNow V300 would be the best choice, but with one condition, you have to add about the 50-70 more, for a 480GB. Has many positive reviews for its price/performance.

Anyone here given the Samsung 950 Pro a whirl yet?

I'm giving it serious consideration because the Intel 750 series will obviously have to sit in a PCI-E slot, which takes up a considerable amount of space. It would be good know if any users here have any experience with them.
*
Mine is incoming and stuck in Kastam. rolleyes.gif

Actually have you considered that the Intel 750 does come in 2.5" form factor also like normal SSDs but just slightly thicker by about 15 mm? They also usually come bundled with U2 Mini SAS to M2 adaptor. Saves you a PCIe slot.

But the Intel is slightly slower than the Samsung 950 Pro though.

QUOTE(clawhammer @ Jan 27 2016, 02:47 PM)
It comes with 3 years warranty but I'm not sure if it's being used in enterprises smile.gif M2 slot normally ends up in consumer based PC/notebooks.
*
Initially I was tempted with the SM951 that was originally meant for OEMs but compare that to the Samsung 950 PRO which is meant for retail, it has limited 5-Year warranty or 200TBW limited warranty. But 3 years warranty for the SM951 is still not bad.

QUOTE(ruffstuff @ Jan 27 2016, 08:54 PM)
Skylake board or X99? If z97 the m.2 will be limited to x2 PCIe 2.0 lanes.
*
I would suspect that it's a X99 board.

I just bought the Samsung 950 Pro in 512mb anyways. Better pricing than the Intel 750.

So the setup is;

Samsung 950 Pro 512gb - Boot
2 x OCZ Agility4 512gb RAID 0 - Speed drive
2x Crucial M500 1tb - Bulk Storage

Now just waiting for the Icydocks to arrive.

thanks for the person who replied to my inquiry earlier..

I have new question.

I'm thinking to replace my operating system drive to SSD. currently I'm using veloci 150gb as my OS drive. planning to get 240gb SSD to replace it. I will raid the veloci later on with my other veloci.

the question is, which brand did u guys go by priority. I see plenty of brands available in the market. so I'm a bit undecided. planning to get used SSD.

shed some lights guys.

Nice. rclxms.gif You got yours from Ramcity? What mobo are you running it on?

On another note, the RM is now a little stronger than USD and AUD compared to a few weeks ago. mad.gif

If you're new to ssd, you should directly grab those mainstream brand such as Kingston, Corsair, plextor or ocz. It's reliable, but for me, getting the ssd for the first time I went for Kingston, been using its pendrive for years. Reliability at its finest. And also, don't read biased reviews on website, go and seek reviews at online retailers, there you will get mad guy, happy guy, and the so so guy with their own words.

Yea im looking at Kingston SSDNOW 240gb, ocz and crucial.

im on sata 2, i dont think i can fully utilize the true speed of ssd that requires sata 3. Old mobo, P45.

But at least it much faster than hdd.

It's just my home PC. I usually build a new PC every 5 years or so, but when I do I aim for absurd overkill to ensure it'll perform for a long time to come.

Not planning on OCing, but unlike what people are led to believe ECC RAM can be overclocked by 15 percent without issue. If you're going higher than that, yes, probably better off with a Core I7 running standard DDR4.

Just bought 240GB HyperX Fury from lazada. Get it below RM300 using voucher.

Samsung or other brands are over my budget.
