hey guys,

I want to ask a question regarding mSata

what is your guys opinion about plugging mSATA SSD using mSATA adapter?

will there any performance loss?

I kinda tempting to get this mSata SSD but it required a mSATA adapter to make it work.

any thoughts?

thanks for the person who replied to my inquiry earlier..

I have new question.

I'm thinking to replace my operating system drive to SSD. currently I'm using veloci 150gb as my OS drive. planning to get 240gb SSD to replace it. I will raid the veloci later on with my other veloci.

the question is, which brand did u guys go by priority. I see plenty of brands available in the market. so I'm a bit undecided. planning to get used SSD.

shed some lights guys.

If you're new to ssd, you should directly grab those mainstream brand such as Kingston, Corsair, plextor or ocz. It's reliable, but for me, getting the ssd for the first time I went for Kingston, been using its pendrive for years. Reliability at its finest. And also, don't read biased reviews on website, go and seek reviews at online retailers, there you will get mad guy, happy guy, and the so so guy with their own words.

Yea im looking at Kingston SSDNOW 240gb, ocz and crucial.

im on sata 2, i dont think i can fully utilize the true speed of ssd that requires sata 3. Old mobo, P45.

But at least it much faster than hdd.

Just bought 240GB HyperX Fury from lazada. Get it below RM300 using voucher.

Samsung or other brands are over my budget.

hi all,

im new to ssd so please bear with me

I am planning to buy this model
SSD
the 120gb variant

will be putting it in my desktop, so my question is

1) do I need to get 2.5 -> 3.5 fixture? my desktop don't have holding for 2.5 size
2) any additional cable needed?
3) how to properly transfer windows from my current HD to this ssd?

thanks
*
Please consider Kingston HyperX Fury SSD to fully take advantage of your mainboard.

1) I just properly place the ssd on suitable slot. its not a moving parts, so not necessary to get bracket for it. as long as u can hide it, it should be ok.
2) yes, Sata cable. use ur HD as Secondary drives.
3) it is advisable to format and start fresh.

thanks for info

would like to know what is advantage of pairing my mainboard with Kingston hyperx fury ssd
*

hyperX offers 500mb/s

normal ssdnow offers 450mb/s

since u are using Sata 3 ready, might as well squeeze the most u could go with Kingston.

Thats just the theoretical maximum using the highest capacity SSD of the product line like 1Tb ssds. The 128Gb hyperx will not touch the advertised 500Mb/s speed. For a small cheap drive the v300 is fine.
*
Agreed, but they wont up the price for nothing.

Later got flame by the consumer worldwide.

QUOTE(ahbenchai @ Mar 10 2016, 05:19 PM)
what speed will it run if I buy 128gb hyperx
I am planning to put my OS and one game that I played mostly in the SSD, maybe will take around 30gb, 120gb should be sufficient

the rest I will throw in my pleb HD

budget constrain what to do  sad.gif  sad.gif
how slow is it?

if too slow, den I don't see the point of getting a 120gb SSD, since im buying it for the awesome speed

PS : I wanted to get a 3.5 bay, no idea its that expensive... RM30-50 buck for a metal plate =.=
*
If u on budget constraint, i suggest u to save up for more.

Last time i was in the same situation. What i did, i save some money and i get 240gb fury.

I bought it cheap, below rm300 incl shipping from lazada. With voucher of course. Voucher u can search in kopitiam.

The product i received is 100% genuine and valid warranty.

Regarding the bay, i did mention earlier, dont focus much on the bracket as it wouldnt effect u if u know how to hide the SSD. it is thin n very lighweight. The cable will hold it in place.

The fury came with small riser. Looks nice.

of the two imo kingston hyperx savage is better (more space). for today's personal computing, it's better to have ssd as boot disk.

does creating ada deleting files in SSD effects SSD's life?

what if the SSD become a torrent drive?

or large files storage like projects or games etc...
