Anyone here given the Samsung 950 Pro a whirl yet?
I'm giving it serious consideration because the Intel 750 series will obviously have to sit in a PCI-E slot, which takes up a considerable amount of space. It would be good know if any users here have any experience with them.
Mine is incoming and stuck in Kastam.
Actually have you considered that the Intel 750 does come in 2.5" form factor also like normal SSDs but just slightly thicker by about 15 mm? They also usually come bundled with U2 Mini SAS to M2 adaptor. Saves you a PCIe slot.
But the Intel is slightly slower than the Samsung 950 Pro though.

It comes with 3 years warranty but I'm not sure if it's being used in enterprises

M2 slot normally ends up in consumer based PC/notebooks.
Initially I was tempted with the SM951 that was originally meant for OEMs but compare that to the Samsung 950 PRO which is meant for retail, it has limited 5-Year warranty or 200TBW limited warranty. But 3 years warranty for the SM951 is still not bad.

Skylake board or X99? If z97 the m.2 will be limited to x2 PCIe 2.0 lanes.
I would suspect that it's a X99 board.
