I manage to find out how to install IE 8 on windows 7. Just google it. Have to uninstall some updates or something.

Their website was done few weeks ago but it's back up now and can get the discount too. laugh.gif

Got-lah & I merged now  biggrin.gif Can try Maybank Travel Insurance. Easier to buy & cheap. I just bought a family plan for a week to Aussie for RM100/duration of 1 wk
Atleast inclusive of medical care that AAX insurance failed to provide

Thanks stimix.

I looked at Maybank already. Too many things that I have significant coverage already (death, disability, medical) from other sources and too little coverage for other stuff that I think is important (RM200 per 8 hours of delay only?)

I guess I'll just wing it and get Amex to cover everything else. I'm paying them shitloads of money for annual fees already biggrin.gif

Plan B RM100- the cheapest for sure blush.gif for detail click here: http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/eINS_AirTravel_bch.pdf

Certain amt of sum insure might be lower than AAX coverage but atleast cover medical. AAX insurance don't cover this incase you fall sick & needs medical attention or warded for something not related to personal accident.. Too bad this cheaper scheme also exclude baggage delay & flight cancellation.. For this coverage, need to choose plan A blush.gif

Anyone bought Citibank's SmartTraveler's annual plan before?

Is it a good idea to buy an annual plan as opposed to per trip?

I travel to international destinations a min of 3 times a year, and I also travel between east and west Msia bi-monthly, so I thought an annual one would be good.

Good question. I also would like to know if my flight departs at 11:45PM and arrives at 6:30AM the next day, do I consider the 'next day' when purchasing the travel insurance?

Hi,

I'm about to begin my backpacking journey starting from ASEAN countries and heading west to Eastern Europe. The travel will take about a year. Is there a specific travel insurance that caters for this kind of travel?

Most of the travel agencies I spoke to insist that I must have a return flight ticket home in order for the insurance to be in effect. The trouble is, I don't know when I'll be going home or I might just continue traveling indefinitely.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can skip for those risk taker. But advisable to take if you want to feel secure and incase u do not want to be burden with emergency accident/incident during travelling.. Medical cost in certain countries can be very expensive.

I hv merged your topic. Do look into alternative travel insurance from past postings here..

I went to google and found some company offering travel insurance with RM10 stamp duty and some without stamp duty.

Why some need to pay RM10 stamp duty? the travel insurance just cost RM30 only...
Is there difference between them or any hidden cost that i'm not aware of?

Long story short, you don’t need to worry about hidden cost etc.

Any medical, personal accident, even your car insurance requires stamp duty of RM10, regardless of how much the insurance cost. Normal for general insurance. The companies that do/don't charge are not cheating you, just the way they do it is different.
