I did a search but didn't see much being discussed on travel insurance.

Most travel insurance out there will cover medical benefits, travel cancellation/curtailment, etc. I'm wondering if there are companies that will let me pick and choose what coverage I want. I already have my own medical insurance, I only want coverage for travel cancellation/curtailment.

I'm being quoted close to RM1k because the insurance companies are bundling everything in, for a trip that's costing around RM10k which doesn't make much sense to me. I guess that's how they make money

I looked at Maybank already. Too many things that I have significant coverage already (death, disability, medical) from other sources and too little coverage for other stuff that I think is important (RM200 per 8 hours of delay only?)

I guess I'll just wing it and get Amex to cover everything else. I'm paying them shitloads of money for annual fees already

I'll be traveling quite a lot this year including the US, and am looking at renewing my family annual travel insurance. I've been buying from Etiqa the previous although never did much comparison before. I started doing comparisons using ringgitplus recently, and realized that Etiqa is a lot cheaper than everything else.

As a comparison, the annual Etiqa platinum plan for family (RM500k death, RM1m medical) is only ~RM900 for the whole year. Compared to AIG or AXA or Kurnia which are all closer to RM2k.

Anyone did any claims with Etiqa before? What's the catch? Why is it half the price of everyone else for roughly the same coverage? I went through the T&C but don't see anything that stood out.
