QUOTE(YoungMan @ Jul 14 2025, 01:47 PM) If totally netflix/streaming and light browsing, 5G is sufficient. Is it the same if using any Telco for 5G?But to really test out, I suggest you subscribe 5G for example using 5G prepaid sim or U Home 5G without contract. Then you can decide to ditch fibre permanently if you feel it is enough for your usage. |

QUOTE(effectz @ Jul 27 2025, 10:29 AM) In general, yes. But I would suggest telco with good 5G and 4G in your area. This is so you can have reliable fallback if 5G is down. effectz liked this post

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 23 2025, 12:45 PM) I have a problem now. I have been using Maxis for more than 3 years, and I have no issue with it. My house is always vacant, and I go back occasionally; however, I have other smart IoT devices connected in the house. There was no major disconnection in the past, and even if it happened, it would reconnect on its own. Unexpectedly, my connection resumed on its own on Saturday afternoon after being down for almost 4 days. Recently, I am facing issue with disconnections. Earlier, Maxis instructed me to change to port 2, and it was okay since July 11th. However, today I woke up to some automation notifications that they didn't work this morning. I checked and all my smart IoT devices were offline. I called Maxis, and they told me it showed no connection since 11.51 pm last night. Unfortunately, Maxis is not able to do anything besides restarting my port, but it required me to restart the modem and router. Additionally, since I'm using my own router, they cannot perform any troubleshooting... The connection didn't come back after restarting my port. I'm not even sure if it's an issue with my Asus router. I hardly hear issues with Asus routers, to be honest. |

Worth if you ask me, if you don’t have issue with UniFi, you shouldn’t have much issue with Maxis too since you will be using the same infra. Raymond T. liked this post

They didn’t offer me new line since I’m using 199 plan already. Yup so far so good with unifi will opt for a try 😬 |

If you have issues with the connection, need to contact Maxis and if it’s related to TM, they will need TM to fix it. So far I am with Maxis for 3.5 years, no TM’s involvement required. Have to apply through agent appointed for that area usually.QUOTE(Raymond T. @ Aug 11 2025, 10:59 PM) Maxis Telesales called me today offering 500Mbps RM 89 & 1Gbps RM 119 lifetime price. Worth to transfer over from Unifi ? Yup, similar offer like mineAlthough mine is structured differently which is RM159 for 1Gbps with free 6 months so that averaged to RM119/mth as well Just bear in mind Maxis is charging RM10 if you need a public IP which I pay for it I think you can even apply for Zerolution Home and get a TV or tablet for just additional RM1/mth This post has been edited by blacktubi: Aug 12 2025, 10:44 AM jusbella liked this post

QUOTE(QuantumEdge @ Aug 13 2025, 12:11 PM) Any Maxis user here using Controld DNS? Added one of ControlD's free server DoH address to browser. This is what I get. Singapore servers. Ignore the high ping at the bottom. That site is pinging from a different location. Cloudflare speedtest reports 17ms.Are you able to be assigned to DNS hosted in Singapore? How's the ping? On Unifi I keeps getting routed to Japan, ping consistently 100ms+] ![]() |
