Hi, did u dewormed them (drontal orally) ? Anything else besides wet royal canid food u give like raw chicken ?
*
brought them to vet yesterday & got their first deworm,
cant vaccine yet cause diarrhea and less than 1 kg,
the vet also gave griseofulvin tab for fungal treatment, need to give them for 21 days.

i didnt give them anything else besides that, no raw food, just boiled chicken breast once to reduce the diarhea

vet say diarrhea could be due food change/worm.

hope they will get healthy after this.

may i know if you prepare how many kind of food for your cat?

I have RC for kittens and 1 kind of wet food.
on majority days, they are eating RC.
twice a week eat wet food.

i was thinking, will they get bored by eating these only?

hi there,

i feed a can of wet food per cat, everyday.
then i have dispenser for dry food as their other portions.

as for getting bored with food, maybe, maybe not.
the reason why i want to feed my cats different types of brand or flavour is to make sure they don't be dependent on my food flavour only.
Let's say maybe in the future that particular brand or flavour is no longer in production, my dependent cats might have difficulty accepting other brands.

Secondly, not all food is made the same, nutrition wise.
So, if one particular food is lacking in an area, other brands can make up for it.

last time i gave them random kibble i bought,
no brand, gave them for 2 weeks, the poo is okay.

when i change to totw i mix with the old one,
but they dont touch the old one at all for few days so i straight give only the totw + wet food 2x/day.

Are you changing suddenly between food? Cat digestive systems generally cannot handle sudden changes, and you are supposed to transition between foods slowly.

I adopted a kitten about 1.5months back.. He is about 6months now but underweight 1.7kg sad.gif

I been feeding him RC Kitten wet food but the problem is my kitten don't eat alot. He can do maximum 1.5 pouches a day and hardly eat the kibbles which is there 24/7. The recommended portion is 3 wet pouch a day so I'm worried he is not getting the nutrients that he needed. As it is the ingredients on RC kitten wet food is also highly questionable.

I tried other brands of wet food i.e. carnilove, brits, hills which he won't eat either. Visited few vets cause he seems to have breathing problem and all give me diff answer.. ranging from flu, pneumonia, asthma and the latest one FIP!!!

While I'm still on my quest to find a vet that could properly diagnosed the cause of his breathing issue, any recomendation of good wet kitten food that I could help to boost his immune system or perhaps something that he dont have to eat a lot but meet the nutrients that he needed?

i tried to mix but they wont touch the old one as they like the new one better,
but now they dont have diarrhea anymore after deworming,
currently on totw kibble only,
maybe i’ll wait for a week or two before introducing RC wet food slowly again.

hey, i recommend putting your furkids into boarding, a clean reputable place.
cos you will never know what might happen to your kitty.
or have someone you trust pop over every day to check on the cat, making sure there's food, water and clean litter.

Will definitely restock necessities before going off for the weekend. Just wondering if they will be okie caged up for 2-3 days. Will have a CCTV camera looking at it and of course a friend nearby if there's a need to come over.

one cat? cage big? how many litter box? food in dispenser?

nowadays, good cat boarding is hard to find, even the best, there are risk, like infection, getting lost, expensive etc..

the one your cat will eat, the one that you can afford.

totw - grain free, cheaper, smell no good, choosy cat don like.
rc- very expensive using many left over frm human food processing, many cat will accept cos good aroma+ formulation.

Only planning for one cat. Kitten for now as I would want the cat to be acquainted with me from young. Am thinking one litter box in the cage and one prolly I put in my toilet so when I am home, I can let it out. Food can be in dispenser ( whichever works best )

I thought of boarding but as you mentioned, there are risks. Last resort, I have a friend who's willing to cat sit whenever I go back to KL for the weekend. lol.

Also, I was told not to let it loose in the balcony?

Just curious, what sort of breathing issue does your kitten have? Is he always sneezing or has a constant runny nose? Can you try to describe it?

As for boosting his immune system, you could try giving him Vetri-DMG liquid, Himalaya Immunol liquid, or Bexton Immuplus liquid. It seems your cat is quite fussy with food so unfortunately you may have to keep trying various brands until you find one that he eats happily.

Since you have a CCTV, why don't you do a test run with your cat in the cage? Like when you go to work or if you're out for a few hours. Then you can observe how your cat reacts.

I think generally they'll be fine. I have friends who put their cats in a cage while they go to work.

Personally, I have left my cat home alone for 2 days 1 night before. No cage so she's free to roam the house. Just left her ample dry food and water and she was fine.

I don't have the cat yet. Hence all the planning and also what I need to look forward to. ahah.......

I will be abit paranoid to leaving it to roam around the house given the amount of glassware I have and I am worried of it scratching the speakers ( $$$ ) that I have. But point taken.....things to do....

Yes don't let cats out on the balcony, if you're living in a high rise. Some tend to jump and either hurt their legs or RIP
