cats and dogs are omnivore like human.
*
Cats are true/obligate carnivores. Cats obtain key nutrients from meat & this including taurine, vitamin A and vitamin B12 which can not sufficiently obtain from plant-based food. They can get sick if they cannot get steady & sufficient supply of these nutrients.

For cats & dogs nutrition needs, you don't experiment without consulting veterinary-trained nutritionist.

Recently visited local pet shop to browse new items coming in after MCO.
I bought this pouch as a treat for the kittens outside my house.
They immediately love it and is learning how to take them as it is.
The wet food is easily mashed into paste but the 1month old kittens have no problem eating it as it is.

Some homemade cat food contain small amount of veggie like carrot (boiled). They helps in digestive system & the vitamins also useful for cats. But only as supplement/snack & feed in moderation. It can lead to health issue if feed too much. The main diet still must contain meat.

QUOTE(turtleundersea @ Jun 15 2020, 12:31 PM)
yes, i am aware....and i expect will have response like this...
i didnt force them to become vege like me...i treat them like treating my kid...

Then why are you asking for plant-based diet recommendations?

QUOTE(turtleundersea @ Jun 15 2020, 12:31 PM)
from my perspective, all are sentient beings, they maybe in other forms before this life.
from my religious view, they become animal due to their sins, and i will try to help them to not consume animal based food.

What? Even if you were religious, animals were created animals, not because they did something wrong. If anything, I could argue that they have shorter lives than humans do because they are more pure than we are so they don't have to stay on earth as long to prove themselves.

QUOTE(turtleundersea @ Jun 15 2020, 12:31 PM)
cats and dogs are omnivore like human.

Cats are not, even if you don't want to believe it.

QUOTE(turtleundersea @ Jun 15 2020, 12:31 PM)
i will do testing on them, who knows my cats and dogs can become vege? if they can become vege without affecting their health, why not?
if they cant, i just maintain whatever diet which is good for their health...

Dogs are OMNIVORES, NOT herbivores.

QUOTE(turtleundersea @ Jun 15 2020, 12:31 PM)
but i understand what u trying to tell me, dont worry.

my plan is, for my dogs, once they fully grown, i will switch to fully vege dog food, then maybe in 2-3 days interval, i get steamed chicken/eggs/pig organ/pig blood(in chinese) for them.
but now they not yet 1 year old, now i mixed normal dog food +vege dog food for them, so far they are healthy and run like mad dog when i walk them to nearest padang to run free...

on side note,
being a vegetarian doesnt mean will lose some nutrients, which is wrongly "advertised" by doctors or nutrionist or advertisement or anyone any party that we must consume animal based food or it affects health.
*
No I don't think you do. I agree with you that being a vegetarian doesn't mean you go without nutrients but I would agree with this FOR HUMANS. Don't fuck around with your animals.

My advise, please dont take in any pets if you want to stick to your way. You are killing them by giving vege-diets no matter what age they are.

Human diet doesnt work on pets.

not sure where is the subjectivity comes from...
anyway, ystdy night it pops into my mind that only plant based animal has side-ways chewing jaw and no sharp teeth.
while cats have four sharp teeth

Dogs are OMNIVORES, NOT herbivores.
at least not carnivore

Sharing wet cat food photos!

Fussie Cat Fresh Tuna with Chicken 400g.

Attached Image

I kinda like this brand so I decided to buy the larger cans to try.
SO FREAKING CHEAP if you wanna compare it to the regular 80g cans that I am feeding my house cats.
RM4.80 per can/400g x 80g = RM0.96 per 80g! SYIOK!

Ingredients:
Tuna Red Meat, Water Sufficient for processing, Chicken Meat, Gelling Agent, Sunflower Seed Oil, Dicalcium phosphate, Choline Chloride Liquid, Oligo Sugar, Taurine, Vitamin E, Food Color (E161g, E250), Zinc Sulfate, Thiamine mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Nicotinic Acid (Vitamin B3), Calcium Pantothenate, Manganese Sulfate, Vitamin A Supplement, Potassium Iodide, Ferrous Sulfate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement (Vitamin B2), Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Copper Sulfate, Folic Acid, Vitamin K3 Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement.

Guaranteed Analysis

Protein-Min 12%
Fat-Min 1%
Fiber-Max 1%
Ash-Max 1.5%
Taurine-Max 0.05%
Water-Max 84%
Carbs: 3%

From the guaranteed analysis and ingredients, the food seems okay, with low carbs. VERY, not bad for the pricing and it is ranking no. 26 on my wet cat food list biggrin.gif

Upon opening the can, I am greeted with stiff jello.

Attached Image

Safe to say, in an accidental slip, nothing is spilling out of the can.

Upon scooping the meat out, it texture and taste is the same as the other brand, Kit Cat, that I've tried previously. Meat is very mushy and jelly dissolves when pressed. Since there is leftover, I am keeping the extras in an air tight container in the fridge.

Attached Image

As usual, both my house kets enjoys this food.
The outside kitten is learning to eat wet food and is supplemented with Kit Cat's Milk since there is no mama cat.

and next day when u feed cat, u "warm up" the cat food then only give them or straight give them?
is it okay to feed them cold food?

put back in fridge in air tight container, feed the balance the next day.
as you see, i feed the wet food in small, stainless steel bowl.
usually after i cook my food, i'll put both bowl of food on the powered off but still hot induction cooker.
it will "heat" the food to room temperature.
i used to use cute porcelain bowls and heat them up using microwave, but my kets love playing with the bowls after meal, dah pecah doh.gif

my cats don't mind eating the food straight from the fridge, but I usually warm it up or let it warm up before feeding them.

My 3 cats usually consume 1 can in one go if I let them. I just give them half a can in the morning and the other half next morning. I use silicon pet food can cover so that I don't need to put the leftover in the fridge. It's still fresh the next day
When they were stray I gave them wet food because I don't want to keep the leftover, open 1 can and dump it on a plate, they will eat them all. If dry food, have to put them in a container
They were so used to wet food, they don't want any dry food. It took some time to make them eat dry food. Now I just give wet food 3 times a week. 1 pouch for each cat.
