My 3 cats usually consume 1 can in one go if I let them. I just give them half a can in the morning and the other half next morning. I use silicon pet food can cover so that I don't need to put the leftover in the fridge. It's still fresh the next day
When they were stray I gave them wet food because I don't want to keep the leftover, open 1 can and dump it on a plate, they will eat them all. If dry food, have to put them in a container
They were so used to wet food, they don't want any dry food. It took some time to make them eat dry food. Now I just give wet food 3 times a week. 1 pouch for each cat.

HOLY MACARONI! ONE CAN!
that is 130g per cat! both my cats are slowly but surely putting on some weight after i added more wet food to their daily food intake.
they eat dry food as snack from the auto feeder (3x a day laugh.gif )

Be careful. You should not be leaving wet food out for longer than 20 minutes, so even with a silicon cover, you should be putting it in the fridge until the next feeding time.

That's why I no longer buy can food, just a pouch one so they can consume all in one go

i dont feed wet food often. but i wont worry about storing the wet food for a few days in the fridge, if contamination/bacteria growth is the main concern.

How many hours for the last meal (kibbles) before I neuter my 8 months old kitten? Let's say the appointment is at 6pm. Can i still feed him around 9am?

my girls go through a can or so a day, so I always have a can in the fridge lol. They get fed wet food twice a day though, so I don't have anything sitting in the fridge too long.

when I took my cats in for teeth cleaning, I dropped them off at 7am. I was instructed to stop all food at 10pm the night before, water only. You could also just ask your vet.

Adopted a white persian a 3 weeks ago and during my bringing her home,my mistake is not preparing a proper sleeping area and toys beforehand. Only preparing litter box, food and drink bowl. She’s currently accustomed to sleeping on my head pillow and always bites me randomly when I try to pet her. Now I’ve bought few bell ball and feathered rat toy, one scratch box and also a bed.

I’ve managed to play around with her using the toys, only a few issues that I need advice is:
1. How do I move her from sleeping on my pillow to the bed I’ve bought? Every time I try to move her, she will move out of the bed to the floor, and in 5-10 minutes, run to the pillow.
2. How do I stop her from scratching my blanket? She always uses her nails and now I’ve had quite a lot of scratches.
3. How do I stop her from biting when I try to pet her?

Hey there,
is this your first time caring for a cat?
As I am a cat noob, i watch this guy, https://www.youtube.com/user/TheCatDaddy66, to deepen my understanding about cats.
Not to mention the endless Google about why this and how thats.

Just from my own experience with my cat:

1. You could try praising her and giving her a treat when you put her in the cat bed. But just like hoomans, cats have their own personalities. My cat has a cat bed but she has never used it once. My wife and I have tried many ways to get her to use it but she just wouldn't. She has a few favourite sleeping spots in the house so we just let her be.

2. You can trim her claws. Has she been sleeping on the blanket? If yes, it's probably got her smell and she claims ownership of it. But if she is scratching it to sharpen her claws, you need to get her a proper scratching post.

3. It's possible she's showing her dominance when she bites you. You can try being stern with her when she bites you to show her that you're the boss. When she doesn't bite, keep praising her.

Also, Google is a good place to start looking for answers too.
It's only been 3 weeks so perhaps she just needs a little more time to get used to her new home. Good luck! smile.gif

commercial food means those you can buy from pet shops, mass produced products.

by the way, rc is made from cheap ingredient, only the price is expensive.

but..

i agree that rc has very good formulation, a lot of cats will prefer to eat rc, cat has good n nice solid poo when fed rc.
rc also produce special formulation for cats with special needs. ie the veterinary range, big kibbles to clean teeth etc.

I use Green Kat which is made from recycled paper. Pellet size is similar to the tofu litter.

One pet shop i went to, he explained that rc is only good for its medicinal value,. If your cat is out of recovering from any sickness, the vet will feed them rc. But it is not something the pet shop will recommend for daily feeding.
