Hello everyone, I need to know if there's a professional animal trainer of sorts? Or perhaps somewhere or someone to suggest the owner of this (link to instagram) pet to? The owners don't seem to know what they're doing with the animal and it's sad to see the animal's aggression/distress. I might be overreacting but if you view the videos, there is no connection between the animal and human. Please suggest a solution? I've contacted the owner through the account DM but no response. Apparently it is owned by an entrepreneur/datuk?

That is not a domestic cat. That is a wild animal. Is there some sort of animal control organization you can call?

I tried googling about the owner but all info I could found was that he bought it for RM30K & it's a Savannah. But comparing Savannah with his "pet", there seems to be a difference (though I'm no cat/breed specialist). Some countries even ban Savannah breeds because of how painful it is to breed it. Off topic but if he was able to buy it, I'm sure there's a permit/license for it. That's why I have no idea who to contact until now.

I really don't think that's a Savannah nor a Bengal. They look like actual domestic cats, but are big and have very wild tendencies because of the wild cat in them, depending on the generation. This one looks straight up like a wild cat. Being able to buy it doesn't necessarily mean there was licensing involved.

I'm sorry I'm not much more help, but I am not familiar with the animal authorities. Do we know if they are Malaysian?

You should come back to Malaysia more often. Yes, they are Malaysian. That guy almost a celebrity. http://www.deherbs.com.my/v1/index.php/shop-store

There's animal authority but I doubt the organization is "sophisticated" like US or other developed country. I mean for them cat is cat regardless what breed is.

I didn't watch the video but wild animal will always be wild & will not have "normal" connection with their owner like "normal" cats. The only way to have good connection if you adopt it since it still a baby.

That's how my suspicion arose when I read an article stating that it's a Savannah. It looks more like a jungle cat of sorts. Yes, he's Malaysian & about the licensing confuses me even more because he never really revealed details of the information online. I'm just really surprised how the fact that he has this animal has gone viral on social media yet no authorities are alerted.

His latest video is of him bringing the "pet" to his product event. Apparently it's for show and tell. Lord I hope the animal doesn't feel cornered and distressed by all the noise & photo taking. Since it's wild it might resort to pawing (or clawing more like) and hurting people unintentionally.

If he imported the animal then there is high likely he have a certificate from relevance authority.

Jokes aside, even if he imported the animal and it has a certificate ... it's a freaking wild animal. What did he tell them, he runs a zoo?

Yeah, I agree. Wild animal should be left alone in their own habitat.

Anyone knows where to get catnip plant?

I did some reading, and below is what the plant looks like :

[attachmentid=7055801]

There is also another species, called 'acalypha indica'. In Bahasa, it is called 'kucing galak' / 'ceka emas' .

The plant thrives in our climate, so I would be hard-pressed if it could not be found here biggrin.gif
