So must a lot people go to apply.

It's good if you know how to invest. Otherwise, if you put into FD and get around 4.5% per annum, 12000 x 4.5% = $540. But you need to pay 1k installment every moon. So that 540 effectively becomes around $270.

I didn't look into details, but if it's the same as the Lazada promo, then you need to spend or balance transfer $2000 (and you have to pay interest around 2% per annum for BT) to qualify.

If you take the Lazada promo, you get $500 voucher. If you take the Public Bank promo, spend $150 on each card (Visa + Master), totalling $300, you get $288 shoppee voucher.

That's why I hate all the convenience given to save credit card details. Haven't save any on my computer or phone. If mine ever gets stolen, it'll be through merchants.

Technology and convenience allow this to happen.

Even some banks are giving free IBG and Instant Transfer only from mobile and not from computer. Password sent from phone, one time password also sent from phone. What it needs is some malware to grab both from your phone.

The other way is having all credit card details saved for convenience. Malware just needs to control your phone.

And of course, all the warez are asking for access to your phone contacts, SMS and everything else. If you disagree, they won't install or won't start. I don't see why they need everything. Computer warez never ask for all these.

Applied last week through their website. No response until today to ask for supporting documents but received some call from their telemarketers instead.

Yes, read that it could take up to 1 month for the overall application.

I stand corrected. It's fairly common that their general number is totally quiet for about 30 seconds when they call you. Probably the caller muted the phone. So it's not telemarketer, especially when I've applied something from them.

They called again today and my application is conditionally approved. Yeah, I like the word conditionally.

Anyway, for the 12 swipes a year thingy. HSBC told me that it's once a month. I told them website says 12 times a year which is different. She said I'll have to call Customer Support for waiver if I swipe 12 times a year instead of once a month.

And have to go to their branch to collect, because it's biometric.

I stand corrected yet again.

Terms & Conditions for RM25 Cash Back Acquisition Promotion apply and valid from 1 September 2018 to 31 December 2018.

a. Apply for any Participating HSBC Credit Card/-i via any channel;

b. Call to activate the newly approved Participating HSBC Credit Card/-i and create PIN (Personal
Identification Number) in accordance with the activation steps in the welcome letter; and

c. Perform one (1) transaction with no minimum spend using the Participating HSBC Credit Card/-i on
Eligible Spend (as per Clause 7 below) within the Welcome Period in accordance with the Eligibility
Criteria as set out in Table 1 below;
(the “Participation Criteria”).

ELIGIBLE SPEND
7. Eligible Spend for the Promotion are those that are charged to the Participating HSBC Credit Card(s)/-i; and

I think bank cannot subsidize $25. But can give cash back.

Eventhough i swiped more than 12 times a year, Amanah M-power card still charging me Rm240 AF. Although can get it waived by phone calls, but the picking up speed of calls by CS is painful!!!!!!!!!!

Is an online purchase from platform like Lazada, 11street, Shopee, Lelong etc considered as a swipe and accounted for the RM2000 spending (to get the RM500 promo Lazada voucher)?

When I collected my HSBC Amanah Visa from their Ampang Point branch early this year, the CS also told me that I need to swipe the card at least once a month to get the AF waiver

I guess a token amount of (e.g RM5) spending per month would do.

That was what also informed by the CS.
No minimum amount required, so normally I just used for McD drive-thru once or twice a month
