HSBC customer services and their CS really needs to buck up their services.
I applied for HSBC Amanah in early Feb and they never informed me via email or call that my application has been approved.
I only found out that I have an HSBC Visa waiting for my acceptance through my erd party credit report search.
When I called back the CC application officer, I was told that my application was approved mid Feb and the card has been mailed to me.
He then transferred me to their CS and lol and behold, they sent it to my previous address in Singapore as 15 years ago I had an HSBC card when I was living in SG which I had already cancelled in the early 2000. They hp no in their record also shown my SG address although the CC application officer has no problem calling my hp or office line as in my application form.
For my new application, I even submitted a utility bill with my KL address and with Malaysian hp no. but seems like they never bother to key-in my address as in my application form.
When he said he will reissue a new card but it can only be deliverd to a nearby HSBC branch and ask me to personally collect the card, I was like WTH. If I don’t have time to collect the card, I’ll just tell them to shove it

Hi All,

I just want to ask.
How long it take to received the cashback for the first time HSBC CC application and swipe RM1000?
As told by the salesperson during registration the card I entitled for this programe if I swipe more than RM1000 within 2 months is not mistaken.
*
Wants to know too.
When I collected my card at HSBC Amanah Ampang Point last month, the staff told me if I swipe RM1500 within 30 or 60 days (can't remember), I'm eligible for RM250 cashback

Hmm. I will receive SMS from HSBC to inform my bill is ready to view and download. In the SMS will have statement balance amount, minimum amount due and due date.
*
Same here.
I'll rcv the SMS, with the amount, min. amount due and due date.
Once I've made payment, they'll send me another sms acknowledging that payment has been made.

Pity that they never email the monthly statement.
Have to login and download the statement

then u got applied again ? weird,  i dont have any credit card , this is my first time apply for cc . and i think my ccris is perfect  , juz owe ptptn and every month pay by direct debit . And my annual salary 40k  more , already fullfill the minimum requirement . Cannot think what reason to decline  sad.gif  sad.gif  sad.gif
*
Even though your CCRIS is perfect, if you have no credit record/history, i.e. no hire-purchase loan, home loan, other CC etc, the approval is not straight forward.
As other poster suggested, try applying CC from the bank where you salary is credited

Cashback with spending requirement does not really appeal to me tbh..
*
Indeed.
I only swipe this card once or twice per month, just to entitle for the AF waiver

Anyway, for the 12 swipes a year thingy. HSBC told me that it's once a month. I told them website says 12 times a year which is different. She said I'll have to call Customer Support for waiver if I swipe 12 times a year instead of once a month.

And have to go to their branch to collect, because it's biometric.
*
When I collected my HSBC Amanah Visa from their Ampang Point branch early this year, the CS also told me that I need to swipe the card at least once a month to get the AF waiver

I guess a token amount of (e.g RM5) spending per month would do.
*
That was what also informed by the CS.
No minimum amount required, so normally I just used for McD drive-thru once or twice a month

For visa platinum is it 12 times swipe for annual fees waive or free for life? Can't find any info on their website now. Applied at mid Valley now waiting for it
*
I was informed by the CS that need to swipe at least once a month for the AF waiver.
I have both the HSBC Amanah Platinum and HSBC Signature with different CL, so thinking of cancelling my Amanah and ask them if possible to transfer the CL from the Amanah to the Signature

Hi guys, does HSBC provide credit card and account statements via email monthly? The past couple of years I just download the e-statement manually and it's troublesome. Other banks I have they just email directly to me, which is very convenient as it serves as a notification to me to settle my monthly outstanding.

PS: I remember I updated my email address in HSBC online banking account to send e-statement to my email address, but I never receive anything from HSBC via email.
*
Nope,
Have to download the e-statement manually.
They only send sms which states statement balance, min amount due and due date

That’s exactly the problem I faced, for the past months i stop receiving the cc statement sms notification. I had to set personal reminder to remind me to pay. But anyway, i called HSBC and manage to change to email statement, the only funny thing is i won’t be able to download e-statement anymore via internet banking. This is not a problem to me as long as they send the statement to my email.
*
That's very weird indeed.
For my other CC from different banks, no problem receiving the e-statement via email and still be able to download form the internet banking.

On my HSBC, only SMS notification and have to manually download from internet banking

Wow, speechless for HSBC. Just now call general line all keep waiting more than 10 minutes no people answer. Change the call to premier general line, straight away pickup the call from cs.. shakehead.gif
Is it true that the excess amount (inside cc) will charge RM2 if transfer to other bank.. Feel a bit painful.. cry.gif

Cancel off the cc since other bank get cb offer than this.. whistling.gif
*
Their general line waiting time and CS really puke.gif
Previously I spoke to the CS to cancel my Amanah and transfer the CL to my VS as I told him I want to save the RM25 goverment charge per card for a rarely used card.
He said he would do that for me as it shouldn't be a problem and can be done over the phone.

5 working days later when I inquired the status, their CS told me that the Amanah already being cancelled but there was no instruction in the system to transfer the CL to the VS bangwall.gif
The CS told me as the Amanah a/c was already closed, there's not much that they can do and ask me to submit income documents to increase my CL instead mad.gif

RM25 service charge just to transfer CL within the credit card? shocking.gif
Damn, I feel too ridiculous already.. shakehead.gif

By the way, I just done for the cancellation. Their CB benefit not like previously 2 or 3 years good already...
I still prefer U bank because better CB benefit than this one..

Then the next month will have another bank to cancel.. cool2.gif
*
Actually the Rm25 in my post refers to the government tax per card imposed from this year.
As the Amanah yearly renewal is next Feb, I cancelled earlier to avaoid paying this

But why send to my house instead of HSBC branch?
*
By default they send to your mailing address.
For my case, they sent to my previous home address, so I called them and told them the card is missing and manage to collect a new card from the branch

Contact their CS but be prepared to be put on hold for 10 minutes or so.
Normally they can check the promo that you are eligible from your CC number

Yeah, I don't know why I need multiple cards. Definitely not gonna spend 50k a month biggrin.gif

It's quite annoying that I have to use the card at least once a month so the annual fee is waived. I may cancel this Amanah card.
*
Cancel the Amanah card and ask the CS to transfer the CL to your VS.
But make sure you ask for the CS name and the reference number of your request
