If any of you are considering of signing up for the HSBC Amanah MPower Platinum -i and thinks you're going to get 8% cash back for Petrol and Groceries.. best you click here and read my Introduction To Credit Cards - CC 101 where I showed that max cash back for petrol or groceries with the HSBC MPower is 2.35%

Hi. The maximum cash back not 2.49%? If one spend RM 635 on petrol and RM 1366 on others, and get RM 50 cash rebate, then isn't it 2.498%? Correct me if I am wrong.

Bro you may be right, but I am saying no way one can get 8% for petrol AND groceries but 2.35% for petrol or groceries.

I have HSBC credit card which I apply to get freebies but never use before. Meaning the cars is not activated right? Do I still need to cancel the card?

If want to cancel can I do it by phone or need to go the branch?

Their cash back campaigns may be quite deceiving and difficult to qualify but I think HSBC cards have the best benefits in terms of shopping and dining discounts? I recently just looked at their HSBC Smart Privileges on their website and I am truly amazed.

I will be applying for their VS soon via RinggitPlus!

Bro, need your expertise to comment on the RHB World MasterCard and Visa Signature where RHB claims one can get 6% cash back for this and that with their World MasterCard and Visa Signature. I worked out max cash back 3.49% with exactly RM3500 local spending. See if you come out with a higher figure or even correct my calculations.

i have checked with my RM... she said can redeem via CS call... i told her some members can't get it and being informed to wait next month for further updates... anyway, she is doing that for me and hopefully can convert all the points to EM

Hi bro,

I assume your reward points are accumulated before year 2016.
I just have new information from CS again, she said to be eligible to convert EM using 3000 points, the points must be accumulated from 1 Jan 2016. The rest of the points which accumulated before year 2016 can be redeem using normal rate only!

Please update if you get to redeem all your points successfully.
Thank you.

Have a HSBC Premier World MasterCard and trying to sign up for this SPG promo

http://www.worldcard.mastercard.com/conten...rred-guest.html

Anyone knows what's HSBC's unique enrollment code ? Tried calling HSBC CS, was asked to contact MasterCard TravelServices and who in turn gave another number which was SPG helpline. Ended up being asked to email : corkspg@starwoodhotels.com , which replied asking me to contact HSBC directly doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

It's clearly stated: "To receive your code, please contact your bank". Maybe you wanna try calling and ask a different CS....

They also told me the RM 350 cash back and apparently after checking I'm not qualified for it.

that is weird. they should already confirmed that you are qualified then only call and told the offer to you. shocking.gif

Anyone know what is the promotion having for Visa Signature? I applied it last month and only got it this month. When I apply, they are giving the Mini USB Speaker. Not sure what I'm entitled for now.

It took HSBC almost 1 month time to get my application approved. This is not a good first experience for me.

When I called for card activation, waited for about 10 minutes. Second bad experience before actually using the card.
