If you are talking about below UOB FD promo which is running together with Ringgit Plus,
the answer is yes, participants have to be new customers to UOB.

New customers to UOB mean that customers have never been opened any banking
accounts (like FD, CASA and etc..) with UOB.

So, let's say if you have existing FD account or CASA with UOB, you still can place the
FD promo rate at 3.9% for 5 months, but you are not eligible to redeem the gift..

Ringgit Plus told me about this when I called them last week..

Ah Sir..I just called to BR branch regarding the issue of lowering 0.10% in my 5 years FD.

BR admitted that effective this month since after changed to Berjangka from Mubeen, BR has adjusted and lowered
my FD rate by 0.10% in their system, and for somehow they cannot do anything to adjust back my original FD
rate in their system...

They promised to do either one of these methods to rectify:

A. (Solution 1) Pay the difference each month to my saving account manually,
OR
B. (Solution 2) Omit the Solution 1, pay the difference in one lump sum when the FD is matured, which will be 2017.

I also asked for an official letter to prove that my 5 years FD is 4.xx% (original rate), but not the lowered rate shown
in BR system. BR officer said would call to HQ and let me know later....

I just checked my iRakyat account, my Berjangka FD received the monthly interest on time..

I guess the rest of my old 5 years Mubeen (now changed to Berjangka) FDs will receive interest based on the
date I placed my FDs..Let's see..

So far I have finally just 2 months ago converted all my 12 months FDs in BR to crediting of interest on a monthly basis.
It is credited on the same date as you placed the FD every month.


On a side note, did any SCB PB customers here in the Klang Valley got invited for dinner tomorrow at Oriental Pavilion for the launch of PruAspire by the director of Prudential?

So far I did not have big issues with BR, except cannot do Rentas, no free Rentas like Big Magician.

But happy on the monthly interest, gifts, high tea etc.

wat type of gifts? high tea??

Ah Sir, because you are still young so you are not realized this...

The way of BR did this was very unprofessional and unfair to customer...

Let's say what if I have a Parkinson disease..?
When i have a Parkinson disease I will forget almost everything, then I will accept whatever
BR offers me..?

So, I think senior citizens are not advisable to put 5 years FD in BR...

Ya, PB does comes with privileges.

But also privilege to be chased by RM after attending the dinner: "Are u interested in this UT by xxxx" ........

SCB recently arranged a wine and food tasting in Penang. I missed it. But the RM called last week asking me to attend a talk in their office this week.

Last time CB used to give free Cinema tickets. They called me to attend a dinner tomorrow for a presentation on investment. I passed on it.
But not many of us here are with CB.

Lucky you ! SCB 4.5% was really attractive at that time, even now kind of sad that it was over.

MBSB is very steady, MBSB is still offering 4.7% for 5 years, regardless of the volatile FD market..

We will not know when will they revise..
