Unless interest rates are rising, 5 years rate of 4.7% is good. Putting some eggs there is a good idea. rclxms.gif

Owner or shareholders of company do not bare the company liabilities.
Owner or shareholding can change hand at anytime at their wish.

Previously on Transmile case, people also use this same analogy aka owned by Robert Kuok related company (or one of major shareholder), so many said they won't let the company went down.
What happened next to the company and its share is a history already.

MAS was owned by Gov, still it needs to be closed down and formed a new company.

Company incorporated as Berhad, or Sdn Bhd, or limited company, as its name implied, limited liabilities aka the liabilities won't spread to the owner or shareholders.

A company is strong or not, is not because of who owned it, but on how it is run and its own financial strength.
Who actually owned the company doesn't matter.

The credential of a Co is important too
Stakeholders wud prefer to deal with reputable corporate shareholders
Corporate shareholders can provide assurance during significant events namely fund raising, tenders n influence to a certain extent
In addition, corporate shareholders provide assurance in terms of continuity as succession plan is in place

5yr FD kinda long blush.gif not every people like it  yawn.gif

This is true also.

But let's say if every year we place 5 years FD, then in 5 years later,
every year we will get one matured FD.

Yes Magic, but I prefer BR to credit me the difference every month
rather than to pay me one lump sum later, this is to avoid unforeseen
argument in the future.

BR perhaps is the first bank in the world to lower customer's FD rate in their system....,
BR treats the FD cert like useless...??

I look at it from different perspective
Assume u manage a UT consists of 100% pure FD
First u will set the investment objective n risk mgt policy
Once it is done, u will choose PIDM or non PIDM n duration(s) to cater for economic cycle
