2 years 2 months now, car started to having problem during engine start.
before this, 'engine overflow' due to air filter already koyak.
now, sometimes smooth start, sometimes need to try 3-4 times.

is it because of battery about to kong?
or spark plugs need change? already 1 year not change.

i think all these problems are due to not following every 3 month schedule service,
i sent for service every 5k km which takes about 3-5 month.

Does Proton specify 3 months for the 5,000km service? FWIW it is usually 6 months for either 5,000km or 10,000km service whichever comes first.

You can have your car checked at the service centre when your car is due for the next service. My car is 2 years 11 months old and no issues with starting the car. The scheduled maintenance for my car is 10,000km, usually 6-7 months interval.

If you haven't changed your battery, do it now. It will just die suddenly without any normal symptoms (alarm sounds weaker, dim headlight etc).

Century is normally RM 250-RM260 only, I changed mine to Yokohama Gold for the same price.

Beware if you change by yourself, my friend and I had to take our cars to SC to do tuning due to the CVT clutch went sluggish when we changed the batteries by ourselves (CFE).

Bump. Would like to know more on this too..

Is it a must to send back to SC to change the batteries? Their battery pricing are cut throat pricing.

Not a must. But technically, ramcar batteries are of good quality.

hi guys , planning to change to my stock rim and tyres (205/55R16) to R18. did some research/calculation and it recommended me to go for options below if want to have same comfort as previous one.

http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg4.html#slr.

New spec %diff
125/70R18 0.13
215/40R18 -1.20
225/40R18 2.35
245/35R18 -1.42
255/35R18 1.69
285/30R18 -1.64
295/30R18 1.02
305/30R18 3.68

Im thinking of choosing option 225/40R18 , but wondering if i can expand the diameter a bit to 225/"45"R18 to make look just nice fit with the fender. plus im also wondering if 225 is a good tyre width not to exceed the bodyframe (im not a fan of tyres looking popped out from the side body)

any sifus experienced using 18 inch wheel are welcome to advise.

The memory in your TCU won't be erased so quickly. The memory lasts about few hours to a day with battery unplugged.
