Since we are talking about engine, I would like to share my experience too.

Got few times when I'm driving, the pedals (brake and accelerate) seems 'disconnected' and unresponsive.  Worse timing happened when I'm cruising at 80 KM/H in a heavy rain on a highway heading to Kuantan, luckily it's for a very short time and there's no car infront of me.

p/s: the engine doesn't stall, just the pedal unresponsive.

Tapping is subjective. If it doesn't involve stripping the original wire to make tap or solder, it's good enough to me, but it does indeed have additional electrical contact for the camera to work. The reverse light socket could accommodate an additional wire for the camera. I've seen how my car reverse camera is done.

If I'm Proton also I'll say void. Stay stock specifications if you want warranty.

QUOTE(HeReLiSm @ Jan 5 2015, 01:41 PM)
bro, may I know what is the sizing, brand and model for Preve LE? I just purchased R3 rims for my Preve and currently looking the best tyre to fit in with the rim.

Thanks in advance   smile.gif
*
215/45/17 is the stock LE size.

Can fit 205/50/17, which I wish to get next round for comfort and reduced FC reasons.

Can also fit 225/45/17 without issues but at the expense of fuel consumption.

May or may not fit 215/50/17, will hit fender if car is heavily loaded or going through turbulent roads with weak absorbers.

Do not fit any other thicker or wider 17" tyres i.e. don't ever think of 55 profile.

I think I'll go for 205/50/17 too, looks like a sweet spot between 215/45/17 and 205/55/16.
*
Most practical but,
1. 215/45/17 is most common and cheapest
2. 205 width less gaya

I just think that 45 is too risky to hit potholes, even a shallow one sad.gif

Original R3 rims very tough. I have no problems with it after a whole year. Some potholes memang kena kuat.

Yup, i'll probably go with 215/45/17 as per stock LE. How about the tyre brand/model? Still using GT Radial Champiro?
*
The stock LE tyres are Archilles 2233. But if you're getting your own, of course don't get such cheap tyres. For quiet ones, you can get Michelin Primacy 3 ST, Yokohama Advan DB etc. For performance, a bunch is available such as Michelin PS3, Eagle F1 Assymetric 2 and more more more

Hi guys, after much debate I chose Preve over Insapla. Since I'm buying 2nd hand, may I know if I go SC on appointment I ask them change

1) EO + Filter
2) CVT oil + CVT Filter (Needed? Car almost 60k mileage)

Will they entertain if I only want the service that I specify. Since it is not under warranty anymore. Or should I just go any workshop?

Just to confirm: EO = xW20/30 Semi Syn, CVT = Use back plotong
*
Yes, you can have a custom maintenance.

No one uses 0W-20 for CFE engine, at least not in any conventional thinking. xW-30 above is deemed appropriate.

CVT fluid and filter is required to be replaced at least every 60000KM. So, answer is yes.

can install shock sensor for preve ? few days ago car glass door smashed also dont know T_T
*
There are such product, but there isn't a real good product. It is usually over sensitive, and it just cheats that a door is unexpectedly opened to trigger an alarm.

Has anyone change the preve premium HU to android HU? The current HU GPS is useless, bluetooth pairing never work with any of my android phone (I have changed 4 android phone since I own preve, none of it manage to pair successfully), and connect through USB to play mp3 is never work on android phone too.

Any good android HU recommended? And can the current HU able to install in Persona? plan to move it to my old persona.

Bluetooth worked with every phone
USB MP3 playback always successful as well

I'm way disappointed that whether proton had trained their technician professionaly when attend to simple claim issue just like my case for the driver seat cushion exchange. Broke the wire connector head below car seat and now it getting easy to be disconnect. Solving one problem and create another problem again. I'm too tired with this all...
Sifu, Pls advise will this cause any issu during driving? How I'm gonna fix this by myself? It seem the yellow wire is connecting inside car carpet. not dare to go back Proton SC again. Pls help and thx in advance...  Is not my day 😢
*
Get Proton SC to fix the mess they have done. If that SC doesn't, call WeCare and demand to get it fixed at CoSE.

Hi guys, finally got my 2012 Premium White CFE. Straight out of the box, the car showed it's rebellious nature by turning on me:

1. I have two key fobs, one can open car, but can't start the car. Vice versa for the other. After on Acc, brake pedal damn stiff can't depress.

2. Auto fold side mirror folds until it hits itself on the passenger window.

Any ideas. Thank you very much!
*
1. One of the immobilizer chip must have got damaged either by dropping or submerged in water. Every car does have stiff brake pedal when engine is turned off, especially yours doesn't have EVP to help
2. Proton SC can help

So the discount now is RM8k for the Preve. Quite substantial. The car itself is about RM65k after discount then (Preve Turbo).
*
Substantial indeed. I bought mine on Dec 2013, RM0 discount, no free service. Upon 20% downpayment with more than a year of loan repayment, I still owe the bank around the above stated 65k. A bit of a mismatch to market price for my car eh.

The car also has unknown bodykit installed. Not sure if those, including the reverse camera, are salesman's initiative to attract customers, instead of given in the form of discounts.
