QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Jul 31 2015, 08:47 AM) My Preve Turbo will be 3 years old next month. I have changed the driver's seat once, and the 2nd seat change is still outstanding for more than 6 months now. Lodged a complaint early January 2015 and until now they have no stock for the seats. Just wrote in lately to complain. that silver thingy i also changed before. But m,y airbag light is like, constantly on then off then on again for so long as the car i started. proton doesnt seem to know whats the problem.Seems like your car have more problems than mine having changed the harness(what is this piece?) twice and steering wheel. Apart from the seats, I have only got the gear lever fixed. The silver plastic piece on the gear knob came out by itself. Airbag sign lights, they only come up when the engine is started if I'm not mistaken. It will go off in 1 to 2 seconds. The airbag lights will not illuminate permanently on the screen. |

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Jul 30 2015, 11:45 PM) tat is becos the harness under the driver seat is loose, sometimes if i suddenly move the driver seat too much will have the light, but i try to like tighten it back then ok edi. so is actually seating problem? driver seat loose as in not locked properly? if thats the case, any dangers from seeing the light consistently on? |

QUOTE(colboynick @ Jul 31 2015, 08:21 AM) Ahh, it's about the price i had been told. just walk with a thick face, let them do what they want, no issues.. actually, only once i claimed warranty.. that would be for the fan harness.. the ballast was there all the while.. not a single cent charged to me..Somehow won't fall?! haha! Then you should really attach a photo here.. So how did you manage when you go for periodic service? lol *warranty issue |

QUOTE(unknowngenius @ Jul 27 2015, 02:21 PM) Thanks for your reply. My replies r the underlined parts. I hope an executive auto user can shed some light as well 1. FC for Preve is quite vary. You can go from 6.+l/100km (highway) to 12l/100km (city centre). So it depends on your location and your driving style. I would say it still acceptable, not really bad, but cannot really compete with city and vios. 2. If you were to drive thru Genting Sempah, should not be a problem. Just a piece of cake with Preve. But if you're going to Genting Highland, I'm not really sure myself. Haven't tried before. 3. Pick up is not that good, due to the weight of the car (14++kg iinm). But when you can familiarize with the car, you shouldn't have problem to increase your speed after traffic light. Exec Auto user here. Loving it since day 1. |

QUOTE(cursebreaker @ Jul 31 2015, 05:13 PM) i dont think it's the turbo. i barely reach 20kmp/h . sounds more like trouble shifting gear. and i found this at my aircond today! whats this!!! This stuff looks like sponge. Looks like it has deteriorated and fallen off from somewhere inside the air cond vents. I don't have this stuff in the aircond vents but noticed a lot of loose bits of sponge below the driver's seat last month when I was vacuuming the interior carpet of the car. I don't know where did those sponge came from though. At first I suspected it came from the fabric seats, but I didn't bother to probe further. |

QUOTE(HeReLiSm @ Jul 31 2015, 09:58 PM) QUOTE(winners8 @ Aug 1 2015, 09:09 AM) That is certainly costly, for a Proton. RM817 for the 60,000km service is costlier than the Ford Focus (or most Japanese cars). The Ford Focus 60,000km service is actually free-of-charge (free 6 services until 60,000km) though the cost of the 60,000km service is indicated as RM552. The 70,000km service for the Preve should be cheaper. (Ford's 70,000km service cost is RM320). The major service is at 80,000km (Ford Focus 80,000km service costs about RM1,100) |

I would say it still acceptable, not really bad, but cannot really compete with city and vios. On the Preve Turbo, fuel consumption of the car is excellent when traveling at constant speed 90-100km/h with light footwork, likely close to other smaller and more fuel-efficient B-segment vehicles such as Toyota Vios/Honda City. In city traffic with constant varying speeds between 0-60-0-60km/h, mediocre fuel economy. However, in stop-go-stop-go bumper to bumper crawls with speeds limited to 0-10-0-10km/h, the fuel consumption is bad, worse than my Ford Focus 2.0-litre vehicle. 2. So, you have also changed the silver plastic piece on the gear knob? Looks like this quality issue does not only happen to my car and isn't an isolated case. Just to be sure, the photo below shows the silver plastic piece that came off from the gear knob. It happened last year. ![]() |

Looks like this quality issue does not only happen to my car and isn't an isolated case. Haha. Happened to my preve 2 month ago. Just after 4 months owning the preve. My wife went back from work called me to check the gear knob that came off. Surprised by it. Just to be sure, the photo below shows the silver plastic piece that came off from the gear knob. It happened last year. ![]() Then next day claimed warranty from sc with new gear knob. This post has been edited by far1470: Aug 1 2015, 12:17 PM |
