Do note that with good amp and speaker, speaker cable make huge differences... PM8005 is certainly a great amp. thumbup.gif

Good speaker cable is multi-grade (for different freq response) where the high freq portion must be handled by OCC.

Even I just own PM6005 and KEF/MA, the cable made huge differences to my ears... now sound more like polished sound with high end DAC... Well, my NA8005 is not a high end DAC... cool2.gif

cable will be another pain cry.gif
i will need 2 pair of rca cables, 2 new speaker cables.

any cable recommended?
current target is QED performance 40 rca cable.
speaker cable either will get QED XT40 or VDL clearwater.
but in malaysia i not sure where to test.

why choose pm8005 over ki pearl lite?
1. price - the ki-pearl lite i found is rm4400, and pm8005 i got it at sgd1200
2. ki-pearl lite is obsolute

although the copper chassis of ki-pearl lite is tempting. nod.gif

For speaker cables, I am using Monster M2.4S for both my Stereo system. And both my system support bi-wiring. Just nice.

http://www.amazon.com/Monster-M2-4s-15-Dis...r/dp/B000CC1Q5O

To my ears, my monster cable is way better than most of my friends cables.... The more sensitive your ears, the more you can appreciate. And no need run-in time, you can tell immediately with huge improvement.

Initially I know nothing about OCC vs OFC thing. I also never believe in speaker cables as I never hear anything great when my friend told me his cable costing over thousand ringgit. Same thing from shop. Nothing amazed.

But when I first heard the sound from the Monster 2.4S, I was amazed by its sound like high end DAC. And it actually confussed me for many days. I cannot understand how could a cable change the sound so much. It was far more than just freq response. The higher pitch was so smooth and polished... And it has no DSP, cross over nor any components... Just cables.. It make my sound system like upgraded to different class. So smooth... And I was so curious to find the magic formula behind and keep searching. Then only months later, I found the secret incredent should be the OCC used for high freq part.

After you had experinced multi-gauge speaker cables with OCC for high freq (it mean very thick cable), you can tell one speaker cables from another if they have OCC. It is so obvious.

If a speaker's tweeter is made of turd, then the highs and imaging will still be shit regardless of whatever $10,000 cable you use.

Stop the snake oil cable bs please.

Yes I know I'm going to make some people's feathers angry.

Thanks for the feedback fellas.

I actually have a PM-KI-Pearl Lite & SA-KI Pearl Lite CD Player, bought from a friend, but I don't have speakers yet laugh.gif

Few have been shortlisted, mostly standmounters (LS50, 685 S2 etc) but still open for options.

bryanyz, let me know your feedback after getting the Elac B6, thanks biggrin.gif

IMHO, you better settle for other speaker instead of LS50; it's a very good speaker but I don't think Pearl Lite amp will do it justice, and I know very darn well as I'm having the very same setup before.😊

Tested out my friend newly bought AV8802 with XLS Encore last week. Some say it was so ATC.

Hi butt, mind to share your experience on the pair? Did you get a better amp to match the LS50 or you changed to different speaker? If so, which speaker?

Yeah, abit skeptical also on the LS50 power requirement & the sensitivity is a bit on the lower side, 85dBm.

Can discuss further thru PM if you don't mind

Agree with you. The weakest link will be the weakest no matter what. Saying this is to clarify not to say speaker cable is useless. Of course a 10k cable will have to compliment 100k speakers to make it right. No point putting a 10k cable on a 1k speaker

Better discuss through Pm as not to derailed the thread to another subject. 👌
Send me a pm..

got my speaker on last friday. biggrin.gif
i'm very happy to the sound quality. it very suitable to the music type i listening to.

i tried a few bookshelf speaker & floorstand speaker before i made my decision. price from 2k - 5k.
from Dali Zensor 1, 3, 5, 7 to KEF LS50 , ATC...
All are not ngam the type of music i listening to. some the vocal is very good, but the stage is weak, bass is not enough. Floorstand got stage and bass but the details is blur, due to my room is small and pricing is higher. then finally i met this B6, i was impress by the sound quality and at a cheaper price i get the type that i want.

currently using it without a dac and connected with very normal pasar road speaker cable.
i'm wondering how much different if i use a DAC and a better branded speaker cable. rolleyes.gif
