True. Like I said monster cable is just entry cable with expensive price

Bad news. It seems most Marantz products such as PM6005, PM8005, NA8005, CD6005 and SA8005 headphone output are not designed for the popular Senheiser HD650.

The sound is clean + clear + some bass, but no taste nor musical signature. Basically its headphone output has no soul at all. After spent few minutes on few tracks, it feel like the world became grey and lifeless. For those in depression, avoid trying as you might commit suicide later... 

Not to disappoint you guys... Just sharing my negative experiences, which is a great disappointment for me. I did not expect 8005 series to be this bad.

For headphone lover, go to other solution. Even Rm1k+ mobile media player like Fiio X5ii sound better.

Ah. Sorry for the confusion. I am new to hi-fi. I just bought B&W 685 S2 yesterday and I'll be receiving it in 1-2 months. After that I'll be hunting for amp.

Just checked out the Elac B6 review. Seems like super value for money. Too bad I just pulled the trigger on the 685 yesterday. =\

If a speaker's tweeter is made of turd, then the highs and imaging will still be shit regardless of whatever $10,000 cable you use.

I actually have a PM-KI-Pearl Lite & SA-KI Pearl Lite CD Player, bought from a friend, but I don't have speakers yet 

Few have been shortlisted, mostly standmounters (LS50, 685 S2 etc) but still open for options.

Hi butt, mind to share your experience on the pair? Did you get a better amp to match the LS50 or you changed to different speaker? If so, which speaker?

Yeah, abit skeptical also on the LS50 power requirement & the sensitivity is a bit on the lower side, 85dBm.

The PM7005 and PM8005 are on sale here in UK for RM2700 and RM3500 respectively (and superfi is an authorised reseller), just wanna ask is it worth the risk to buy it now and bring it back to Malaysia in 2 months time. And as I have no passive speakers here I can't test it at all, so it's just gonna sit here and if it's lemon unit then ggwp sayonara. Never purchased an amp like this before so I'm not quite sure if I should pay extra attention to this, although I've never used a single warranty on any electronics before.

Intend to pair it with ELAC B6 (plan to purchase in Malaysia as they are too heavy to carry back), and similar price can only get me PM6005 / 6006 in Malaysia, which many say is relatively weak to drive the power hungry B6.

Well just looking for opinions..

Every time when I almost pull the trigger, the service and repair issue came to my mind again.
Pretty sure the local shop will be reluctant to take in a 'grey import' for repair 

Even if I were to push my budget up to be able to purchase PM8005 in Malaysia, the idea of pairing a 6k+ amp to a 2k- speaker bothers me    Somehow I feel looking for a more expensive and efficient speaker to pair with a cheaper amp is more sensible to do. i.e. 4k amp 4k speaker.

I think it's not that burning hot yesterday when touched, just warm, previously I feel it's hot because room temperature high due to hot weather that day, also no use air-con in my room, just fan
