QUOTE(chanhin @ Apr 15 2016, 02:19 PM) FYI, PM6005 is a great amp that excellent for everything. Except the low freq part not enought power a bit... PM8005 shine on the power part... PM7005 not sure.. never try before.. any pm7005 user here? and any pm8005 user? I also want to know the pricing... Give Desa Home a call la. can give comment to pm8005? i checked singapore price is very tempting. PM7005 = SGD1100 PM8005 = SGD1250 stylelaser price which i found from mudah PM7005 = RM5299 PM8005 = RM6299 as i m planning to match it with Dali Zensor 3, but this is not the final decision yet. because i not sure it match with the marantz amp or not |

any pm-ki pearl lite user here?
can share some comment to this unit? yesterday i went to try speaker and amp. and the shop introduce me pm-ki pearl lite. but i found that this unit is a discontinued model. so i'm thinking that which to choose between pm8005 or pm-ki pearl lite. as the pearl lite is rm650 expensive than the pm8005. as i know the different between both are the copper chassis and ken ishiwata edition. but do it really worth the extra rm650? *pm-ki pearl lite = RM4400 *pm8005 = SGD1250 |

QUOTE(chanhin @ Apr 17 2016, 02:20 PM) PM6005 + PM7005 has built in DAC. I bought the PM6005 also for its value for money (built in DAC). However, my experince with the PM6005 built in DAC is just so-so-okay-type experince (maybe 2.5 stars out of 5 stars). In other words, a good seperate DAC or streamer with DAC or SACD with streamer is kind of unavoidable if you want overal good results. em, i am planning to get a network receiver too. how is the sound quality streaming using wifi? OCC Cable? OCC is the brand or?My PM6005 (2 units) built-in DAC sound harsh, especially with bright speakers. And certainly not smooth to enjoy (music domain). Once I have the NA8005 as my music stream and DAC, I finally got the sound that I can hardly complain (maybe details not as much as the Saber). The sound is so much better now... But always remember to get OCC interconnect cables for between amp and DAC. It might cost a bit, but the sound is really more than noticable differences. |

QUOTE(everclear @ Apr 17 2016, 04:05 PM) It's really driving me nuts. Until now Desa Still doesn't have PM/CD 6005 or M-CR 611. B&W is having promotion now and I'd like to get the 685 S2 but the only amps there I'm happy with is Roksan K2 / K3, which is a crazy match as they're more expensive than the speakers itself... (And I'll mostly go with digital source anyway) What music you listen to? And I hate and feel stupid to buy the speakers alone without matching amp. This will be my first setup so after buying the speakers I'm going to sit at home looking at the speakers not connected to anything for god knows how long like an idiot. If u listening to pop, rock, electronic . Then u may try out Elac b6. Price below 2k and the sound quality is amazing to me. |

QUOTE(everclear @ Apr 18 2016, 09:01 AM) Hey thanks for your sharing Bryanyz. amp or speaker? My thing is jazz (blue), oldies, melancholic songs. But I do listen to pop and rock too. Do you mind telling me where I can find this amp you're recommending? Thanks. Listening to 'Louis Armstrong - A kiss to build a dream on' and 'Ed Sheeran - Photograph' as I type now. =] i tried it at stylelaser cheras and accoustic systems amcorp mall. stylelaser pair with pm-ki pearl lite, sound very good, totally amaze. accoustic system pair with pm5005, i notice the detail is different, not so amaze. |

QUOTE(chanhin @ May 3 2016, 01:25 PM) Do note that with good amp and speaker, speaker cable make huge differences... PM8005 is certainly a great amp. cable will be another pain IMO, KI-pearl lite is already obsolute years ago... i will need 2 pair of rca cables, 2 new speaker cables. any cable recommended? current target is QED performance 40 rca cable. speaker cable either will get QED XT40 or VDL clearwater. but in malaysia i not sure where to test. why choose pm8005 over ki pearl lite? 1. price - the ki-pearl lite i found is rm4400, and pm8005 i got it at sgd1200 2. ki-pearl lite is obsolute although the copper chassis of ki-pearl lite is tempting. |

got my speaker on last friday.
i'm very happy to the sound quality. it very suitable to the music type i listening to. i tried a few bookshelf speaker & floorstand speaker before i made my decision. price from 2k - 5k. from Dali Zensor 1, 3, 5, 7 to KEF LS50 , ATC... All are not ngam the type of music i listening to. some the vocal is very good, but the stage is weak, bass is not enough. Floorstand got stage and bass but the details is blur, due to my room is small and pricing is higher. then finally i met this B6, i was impress by the sound quality and at a cheaper price i get the type that i want. currently using it without a dac and connected with very normal pasar road speaker cable. i'm wondering how much different if i use a DAC and a better branded speaker cable. ![]() |

QUOTE(chanhin @ May 13 2016, 10:06 PM) (1) No Apple product here, nor I am Apple fan. But I do eat Apple daily yaya, my main concern is how the quality steaming by airplay. as most of my music files are managed by iTunes. if the airplay quality is same with using a NAS storage then i will prefer to stream by airplay. (2) Listen-able for fun only. But certainly not HiFi quality. Sound like MP3 that lost the details. My ears especialy senstive to details... (3) Never try Spotify (4) USB work as I tried once... But I think asking about the USB length is the wrong question. The 'NA' mean Network Audio. The word, 'Network' mean using IP based solution. I personally prefer LAN over USB anytime. Normal LAN cable is limited to 100 meters to switch, which is sufficient for my small house. Just get a NAS and put everything there. Do all wiring. I found my NA8005 that only come with 100mbps LAN do not suffer quality playback issue. With IP and NAS solution, then only you can enjoy its Web solution, android app etc. Btw, music file is much smaller than movies. Get a 6 or 8 TB single NAS should be sufficient for music lower. However, if you want to mix with movies, dun buy anything less than 12TB. Again, do make use of the 'NA', which mean all the IP function. i owned a nas 4TB currently, not all files are lossless, some album i like i will get lossless. or else i will just stick to 320kbps or 256kbps to save space. The nas is able to iTunes sharing, but it cannot make smart playlist to sync into my phone and iPad. so mainly my music files are still in my computer. |
