I've tried K2 & K3 amp/CD combo. Really nice indeed.  smile.gif Problem is no digital input (besides the blue tooth) and most importantly out of my budget. =\

Yeah is better to work within budget

Found that Finnish Marantz website has announced a week ago that PM6006 & CD6006 are to be launched in summer 2016 (May-Sept).

Hmm. Wonder if I should wait.

Checked out the site, it seems that PM6006 comes with 2 optical input compared to just 1 optical input on the PM6005. Price is hkd 4000, which is around hkd 1000 cheaper than the PM6005 in hk. Quality: Unknown but those guys seem impressed. Comparison against PM6005 is also not done. =\

How do these guys get their hands on the unit before it's even launched? Good that there's finally a PM6006, but when will it reach here?  bangwall.gif

Surprise on why PM6006 with 2 opti in. I actually never happy with most opti in, except NA8005 so far. Maybe for desktop computer?

(1) No Apple product here, nor I am Apple fan. But I do eat Apple daily

(2) Listen-able for fun only. But certainly not HiFi quality. Sound like MP3 that lost the details. My ears especialy senstive to details...

(3) Never try Spotify

(4) USB work as I tried once... But I think asking about the USB length is the wrong question. The 'NA' mean Network Audio. The word, 'Network' mean using IP based solution. I personally prefer LAN over USB anytime. Normal LAN cable is limited to 100 meters to switch, which is sufficient for my small house. Just get a NAS and put everything there. Do all wiring. I found my NA8005 that only come with 100mbps LAN do not suffer quality playback issue.

With IP and NAS solution, then only you can enjoy its Web solution, android app etc.

Btw, music file is much smaller than movies. Get a 6 or 8 TB single NAS should be sufficient for music lower. However, if you want to mix with movies, dun buy anything less than 12TB.

Again, do make use of the 'NA', which mean all the IP function.

yaya, my main concern is how the quality steaming by airplay. as most of my music files are managed by iTunes. if the airplay quality is same with using a NAS storage then i will prefer to stream by airplay.

i owned a nas 4TB currently, not all files are lossless, some album i like i will get lossless. or else i will just stick to 320kbps or 256kbps to save space.
The nas is able to iTunes sharing, but it cannot make smart playlist to sync into my phone and iPad. so mainly my music files are still in my computer.

Generally anything wireless will degrade the quality. Period.

I have the Android app installed on my 8" tablet and it has the playlist for NA8005. Well, honestly speaking the playlist is useless for me because everytime I want to listen, my taste changed. I do enjoy controling the songs from 8" tablets. If handphone will be too small. While if full size tablet will be too heavy.

Regarding lossy file, I personally cannot accept it as feel really bad... Thus no audio lossy file in my NAS. Even some lossless that did not sound 'okay' will be deleted. It seems like different recording studio has different taste and quality. The good one might be very very few...

Maranta UK website just announced the launch of PM6006/CD6006 early this week. Some websites have listed them for sale. Interesting observation is that HK price is 4K HKD (1k HKD cheaper than 6005 price) while in the European countries it's going for higher price (€600) than the 6005 (between €400-550).

Hope it reaches here soon and cheaper than PM6005. XD

Hey guys, I'm currently looking for an amp now.

http://www.superfi.co.uk/c-170-integrated-...Brand%7CMarantz

The PM7005 and PM8005 are on sale here in UK for RM2700 and RM3500 respectively (and superfi is an authorised reseller), just wanna ask is it worth the risk to buy it now and bring it back to Malaysia in 2 months time. And as I have no passive speakers here I can't test it at all, so it's just gonna sit here and if it's lemon unit then ggwp sayonara. Never purchased an amp like this before so I'm not quite sure if I should pay extra attention to this, although I've never used a single warranty on any electronics before.

Intend to pair it with ELAC B6 (plan to purchase in Malaysia as they are too heavy to carry back), and similar price can only get me PM6005 / 6006 in Malaysia, which many say is relatively weak to drive the power hungry B6.

Well just looking for opinions..

I drive my floorstanding speakers using PM6005. I think it has enough to power ELAC B6.

my 2 cents and if using rounding mechanism my 2 cents worth nothing.

I see what you did there with the joke.

It worries me a bit as a lot of people says the PM6005 is not powerful enough for floor standing speaker. Well I feel better. So not worth the risk and hassle after all.

I don't know where I read this but I find this funny too.
Floor standing speakers is like Toyota Camry.
Pair with PM6005 is like 1.8 litre engine for Camry, can drive but might feel insufficient when need that power.
And PM8005 is like 2.5 engine.

Don't you worry too much brother, if not enough juice to power your speaker you can always buy power amp later. or you can go pre and power amp way but you have to add more moolah.
