If a speaker's tweeter is made of turd, then the highs and imaging will still be shit regardless of whatever $10,000 cable you use.
Stop the snake oil cable bs please. Yes I know I'm going to make some people's feathers angry. |

Not sure why you all so scared to update?
The firmware has a checksum data and if it doesn't match the sum on the AVR, it doesn't proceed, end of story. If it proceeds, then all good to go la unless the firmware file itself is corrupted or (touch wood) house black out when flashing. |

QUOTE(ktek @ Sep 13 2016, 05:51 PM) If the checksum matches the data on the receiver, then it means the firmware is global and not region based even if it doesn't seem like it otherwise (i.e you find the firmware on a US site, but not on the EU or Asia site).Programming 101. |

QUOTE(ktek @ Sep 16 2016, 08:56 PM) Go straight SR7010 yo. Only downside is cannot use DSU/Neural X on whatever content you want. DSU is locked to Dolby encoded sources, Neural X locked to DTS sources. But aside from that, fantastic receiver for the price. |

QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Nov 8 2016, 02:23 AM) I plan to purchase the SR5011, is it worth to top up around 500 for the SR6010? SR6011 is a bit steep at around 1.1k from d 5011. I'm running on Q Acoustics 3020 n 3090c as mid, Klipsch R-112SW . peak power at 75w iirc. Currently with 5.1 setup. will move on to 7.1 setup in future It's a no brainer, get the 6010.Any significant performance or SQ difference between 5 and 6 series? Hardware differences aside, all of which doesn't actually matter that much and isn't the main reason to pay more. The biggest reason to get the 6010 over the 5011 is because of Audyssey XT32 being available on the 6010. XT32 is significantly better than the plain-jane original Audyssey XT. |

Once again, the major difference between the 5011 and 6010 is Audyssey XT32. It's worth the extra just to get XT32, especially when the extra is only RM500.

Finally Marantz is coming back into the flagship, built-like-a-tank receiver market.
Marantz SR8012 ![]() On hindsight, it looks similar to the Denon 7200WA, but look closer and there are clearly quite a few key differences. Excited for this one. |

QUOTE(ktek @ Sep 22 2017, 11:22 PM) use camera but no camera allowed. The design topology is similar, but the transformer isn't the one used from Denon. The amp plates also look beefier on the 8012.front face is marantz style, inside is denon style. copper color screw is good news Also, the 8012 uses the AK4458 vs the 7200WA's AK4490. Not that there's much of a difference, but it is what it is. Basically design similar (so called H frame), but there are more differences in the parts than meets the eye. Considering the Marantz will be cheaper, I don't see the reason in picking the Denon then. If Marantz want to hit it out of the ball park, they can include Audyssey Pro as a cheap upgrade option instead of locking it to XT32. |
