Hi,
I went for an interview with KPMG 2weeks ago and after a week I was requested to submit my ACCA results when release(yesterday), unfortunately I did not clear my papers, hence I'm left with 2 papers (i do not have a degree )and the secretary told me that she needs to check with the manager first n then she will call me back which she did not, so I called again today and was told tht the manager needs to check with another manager and has not gotten back to the secretary and she will call me back again and I've not receive any response as of yet hence im pretty worried of the outcome. I would like to know if anyone can give me their opinion with regards to my chances of getting in?
Thanks in advance!

Bad. Sorry.

I'd put you on hold, and see what other applicants are there. Anyone more qualified I'd take in to fulfill the quota instead of you. I believe chances of that happening is higher than not.

Hi Chennie, thanks. But I wonder, if I try to apply it again would it make no difference? Yes, I am really keen to work in KPMG for couple of reasons, mainly because of the distance. Please enlighten me further whether to apply it again, if yes, how long should I do? I really wish to be productive asap.

Emm you do realise that you will most likely be posted at client place which is can be at totally opposite direction ?
Lol if distance is the main reason you select a firm, then you are in for a surprise man. But to be fair to him, i guess during the late nights you will probably be back in office if clients don't allow you to stay beyond their working hours.

On a side note, I didn't know there's a second round of interview for KP though, is it because they have slowed down on recruitment due to the off-peak period?

Yes, I do realise how auditor works. May be I shouldn't mentioned that's the main reason, sorry. Thanks Topace111 smile.gif

Jae, yupe, there are actually many filters that have to go through. Assessments, essay, interview. 2nd interview was the last one. However, I heard the other audit firm like EY is simple which is only 1 interview if not mistaken. May be I will have to just wait and apply again.

Yeah I had been through the whole thing, but I never had a 2nd interview back then when they offered me, which is why I was wondering. They did take quite some time to get back to me though, but when they called it was an unconditional offer. EY is simple in the sense that they don't have assessments, but if I am not mistaken there are more than 1 round of interview.

Emm the only reason from the firm point of view is that you might be huge cost saver. Cos without degree (I assume no OBU also) you will be paid a lower salary compared to everyone else. From audit point of view, thats a good balance of audit fee vs auditor's salary ratio (if you can perform).

Hi,

I was just wondering how long does Deloitte take to respond after Group Assessment (Second Round)? I've already went for the Written Assessment (First Round). They told me they will take bout 2 weeks to get back to me for an Interview. It's already coming to the 2nd week.

Previously they were quite fast. Less than a week, I was called for a Group Assessment.

Once heard from a friend who did VT there, he mentioned that if a person doesn't get through his application @ KPMG, he can't apply again within 6 months. Reason being it takes time to improve yourself. You may want to reconfirm if this is true.

Thanks for replying my post, I will call to HR KPMG for further enquiry. Essentially, I have called back to ask for reason, but they said it didn't state any specific reason why. I don't feel like give up because my status is almost the end of the entire process and I was being told that my senior manager will make recommendation to my application and it should be fine. If it is true that only allows me to apply after 6 months then I will be very disappointed..

Hey,first congrats on landing urself the interview.
The interview process is pretty simple. They usually like to ask the candidates about themselves ,ask what you know about the firm or the position u r applying for and whether ur able to work long hours etc etc
Any normal interview preparation should be sufficient smile.gif
