Hi, any senior here from KPMG?

I have recently went to KPMG for interview twice and few assessments and I have actually received a call for 2nd interview after a day of 1st interview. Furthermore, at the 2nd interview, the senior manager was quite confident mentioned it to me that my application should be fine. However, after few more days, I got an email that informing me my application will not be proceeded further, desperate. Why would this happen? Advice?

Deloitte and EY still not revert back to me yet.

What are the audit firms other than Big 4? BDO, Grant Thornton, any else? Thanks in advance.

This is probably due to disagreement of the partner who review your application.. different point of view from the senior manager...

Anyway try to apply again later?

Hi Chennie, thanks. But I wonder, if I try to apply it again would it make no difference? Yes, I am really keen to work in KPMG for couple of reasons, mainly because of the distance. Please enlighten me further whether to apply it again, if yes, how long should I do? I really wish to be productive asap.

Lol if distance is the main reason you select a firm, then you are in for a surprise man. But to be fair to him, i guess during the late nights you will probably be back in office if clients don't allow you to stay beyond their working hours.

On a side note, I didn't know there's a second round of interview for KP though, is it because they have slowed down on recruitment due to the off-peak period?

Yes, I do realise how auditor works. May be I shouldn't mentioned that's the main reason, sorry. Thanks Topace111 smile.gif

Jae, yupe, there are actually many filters that have to go through. Assessments, essay, interview. 2nd interview was the last one. However, I heard the other audit firm like EY is simple which is only 1 interview if not mistaken. May be I will have to just wait and apply again.

Once heard from a friend who did VT there, he mentioned that if a person doesn't get through his application @ KPMG, he can't apply again within 6 months. Reason being it takes time to improve yourself. You may want to reconfirm if this is true.

Thanks for replying my post, I will call to HR KPMG for further enquiry. Essentially, I have called back to ask for reason, but they said it didn't state any specific reason why. I don't feel like give up because my status is almost the end of the entire process and I was being told that my senior manager will make recommendation to my application and it should be fine. If it is true that only allows me to apply after 6 months then I will be very disappointed..

I am so fed up in applying Big4, I am quit, and I feel regret to take double majors in accounting & banking and finance from Monash. Graduated and like no difference from local U or should I say ACCA. People holding ACCA @ 20 years old already work in Big4, and I am already more than that still unemployed after graduated, months. Results weren't those top class students but credit average and my ECA is definitely much better than average. So desperate. Consult here and there, new hope, vanished, new hope, vanished again. Frankly, no attitude problem, be humble and smile while interviewing, can speak fluent english, lack of what? I am not like those article saying spoon feed fresh grades demand this and demand that.

A month being unemployed = A month experience loss out compared with others in the same field.

It's not like I don't want to look for other jobs, I plan to work for long terms not jumping here and there. I have prepared to work under pressure like overtime as people said work until very late, I am ready for that.

As for interviewing skill, I went to 2 firms of them. Well, I did my best and I answered all the questions sincerely and confidently. Besides, almost the last step of entire process, the interviewer even informed me that my application will be fine and as me enjoy as much as possible. Few days later only email said that my application will not proceed further and I called HR got to know nothing, no specific reason. LOL. This can only to blame myself too naive trusted wholeheartedly.

PwC got major staff crisis. LOL life's gonna suck for the next peak. XD

Good for them (the company la, not you), since they are sooooooooo CHOOSY. rclxms.gif

For EY, I guess they are extremely busy now and could only be hiring later.

Fortunately I have signed the offer letter from an IB where distance and salary are far better than Audit firm and I am going to pursuit further studies, could be CFA. So good lucks to all people who are applying for Big4.
