Thanks H2D. am a bit behind time, only 1 month ago, I started looking for stuff in Taoboa. I dun believe it and started with small purchase, riser handlebar for my MTB, it came in good order. now second purchase for children stuff. the kenda tires average rm5-35 a piece is a great deal.

Etigge, pm me your steal price as I dun mind since its for my Trinx.

The main concern are the durable, size and weight not the main concern but the size cannot be too big until cannot put in my car. 800 - 1k budget is a good starting price. Geometric has a folding bike with 8 speed SRAM X4 components going for RM 850 at Keen To Cycle at Sunway Mentari, the frame looks like Dahon Vigor P9's

Otherwise Trinx KA2016 or XDS AFB 280 are good choices also.

Since you ae already near Kajang, why don't you visit Kimbell Jaya near the 11th mile Saga toll. Left turn to Bdr Tun Hussein Onn and on the right. Jimmy (the owner) stocks almost all folding bikes, even MIT which folds like Brompton and also Txed (another small fold). Also there are many Dahons and Terns there and off course other brands like Java which can get 16 speed for less than 1K now. Also I can recommend the cheapest Dahon now which is only 800 bucks. Just visit the shop and talk to Jimmy.

Hello,

Newbie here.

In fact I came to this forum after receiving the Ensogo Hummer offer on email - sounded too good to be true so thought I would do some research first. smile.gif

First of all, great forum, kudos on reaching V4! rclxms.gif (I started at V1 and worked my way up).

The Ensogo deal sounds very good, but as mentioned above I may need to be prepared for some heavy fire headache, maybe even migraine. Never bought from them before, some not so good feedback on them on various websites.

So, since I am in the company of true experts, thought I would pose the following questions before I try to figure out how to proceed:
1. Is the foldable Hummer that is advertised in Ensogo indeed a good bike? Does it have a model number?
2. How much does it normally retail for? All these online websites always claim 60% off, 70% off etc etc. Is the retail price really ~RM1,399?
3. Are there also fakes of this foldable Hummer in the market these days? Is that why it is so cheap on Ensogo?

I am looking for a simple bike, to accompany my 3 young kids (6, 4 and 2 years old) when we go to the park etc. After small kid's bicycle, scooter, ziggle, push car, not much space for an adult bike left in the Serena... rclxub.gif

When I saw Hummer foldable for less than RM500, I got all excited. Cool brand. Bike looks good. Thought I could return to my pre-kids cool days. whistling.gif flex.gif

Many thanks in advance if any sifus out there could shed some light on the above questions, which will help me decide whether to buy panadol and then proceed with Ensogo, or pay more by going to an actual bike shop, but at least assured I will not be scammed.

Why not a foldie like Oscar Imagine for about 450 bucks instead? Smaller than the Hummer so would take up less space smile.gif

i no expert but try to answer.
1. there was discrepancy in the add itself, if the bike is the above picture (quick release on top of the frame) it will be ok bike, if it was the below one (folding mech in center of frame line normal folding bike) then err no idea alrd since it was different type. the folding mechanism is different but it will still be big after fold.
2. price can range from 800 up if not mistaken for the one with quick release on the frame
3. both are china hummer, not the real hummer. real one will cost more than rm3k

better go to bike shop, as if you have any problem with the bikes till can go back to them and screw them if need to.
that oscar imagine suggested by 180jin also enough for taman ride.

I also suggest bike shop more reliable, especially for servicing, after a while you ride your brake need tightening, your gears need retuning, why do urself?

Since you have space constraint, consider a 16-inch rather than 20-inch. But ride it first to see if it's okay for you (handling). 20-inch won't have problem with handling, but its quite a bit bigger for me. Still regret not going for 16 =(

I had come across some articles on how to spot a fake hummer bike:

http://www.montaguebikes.com/folding-bikes...-a-counterfeit/

Some statements I copied from the above link:

IMPORTANT: Any new bike using the Hummer brand name is a copy. Montague did work with General Motors to produce Hummer branded bikes between 2002 and 2007. Since that time Montague has produced NO Hummer branded bicycles.

HUMMER = FAKE
RANGER = FAKE
MONTBIKE = FAKE

As shown in our Malaysia distributor, these bike cost around RM4k.
Original maker of Hummer bike was by Montague.

Good luck.

Let's just say that ANY bikes produced to be sold at those prices will be FAKE and of lower quality. Those purchasing these bikes already know that they are buying them for ....... their cheap entry price, that's it !

Then later on will complain, why so heavy, why cannot go fast, why cannot climb, why cannot fold, why cannot mod, why so fast rust...... hehhhhhh unsure.gif

Well~~not every one has the money to go for a RM4K folding bikes~~lets just say they just wanna enjoy ride like us without burning a hole in their wallet~~

i think we should not look down / discriminate them in any case~~show some sporting spirit and support for the sports guys~~

I also think the bike is perfectly fine and fun to ride~~which i ride one myself before~~i would recommend new comers to get one which is value for money before moving on to other bad ass bikes~~~
