Yes, you are right Bro, only get the card if one needs another card for Petrol and Groceries.

To ALL:

I just posted a FREE Tutorial at my Facebook Page comparing the Maybankard 2 Cards and Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan for those who can't decide which card to get and worried about the RM100 GST for the Maybankard 2 Cards.

Click here to my Facebook Page to see why one should get the Maybankard  2 Cards instead of the Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan if he /she only spends up to RM1K per month.

I think it will be easier if you just put it here rather than ask people going to your personal page.

Bro, my Facebook Page is classified under Community and anyone can view as it is not classified under Personal where you need to friend me laugh.gif Just click on the link one can easily read my comparison of MBB 2 Cards vs MBB Islamic MC Ikhwan Card.

You expert on credit cards so no need go read my Facebook or Blog, but for those who have doubt as to which card to get, i.e, Maybankard 2 Cards versus Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan, my post at my Facebook Page can assist them in choosing the right card for them. And each of you have the prerogative to visit my Facebook or not.

Thanks for sharing.

Still, I think the better to take 2 for MBB2card (provide with gf or wife's detail) since the card can be use for every utility fee, petrol & Groceries

Although it will charge for RM100, but it can be redeem from TP by 25,000 which is 4-6 months spend that can be get the enough TP. After that, all the cash back is for your own reward.

Different between MBB2card & Islamic MasterCard Ikwan are only on Friday & Sunday right, correct me if I'm wrong

Below are the comparison holding MBB2card + Islamic and 2 for MBB 2cards:

2 for MBB2card - yearly spend RM24,000 (RM1000 per month per card)
- Cash back = RM1,200 (2 cards)
- point earn = 120,000 (2 cards) (equivalent to cash back RM480)
- Total earn = RM1,680

Minus
- GST Charge = RM200

Total to be earn from cask back = RM1,480

MBB 2 card & Islamic MasterCard Ikwan - yearly spend RM24,000
-cash back = RM600 (MBB2card) + RM600 (Islamic)*
-Point earn = 60,000 (MBB2card) + 12,000 (Islamic)* = equivalent to cash back RM240+RM48
-Total earn = RM1,488

Minus
- GST Charge = RM100 (MBB2card) + RM50 (Islamic)

Total to be earn from cash back = RM1,338

There have different cash back RM150

This is what I'm thinking for both cards to be holding, please let me know if I'm wrong detail given smile.gif

* Cash back is entitled only for Petrol and Groceries on Friday & Saturday

Nope, this Ikhwan card are only good for third card. Still MBB's dual card as first card, HLB's STUPID as second card, follow by Ikhwan card.
To make your TP worth more than what it stated, the best is getting AeonBig's cash vouchers, 25000TP for rm105, then use it on 28th of the month.

This card is a watered-down version of Maybank VS

less RM38 rebate, no PPL access and no 5x TP

MBB VS won't earn you any TP on petrol and groceries.

This card still gives you 1x TP on these two categories right?

IMO, in terms of affordability with good cashback/reward, [low/entry level] MBB Islamic Ikhwan then [low-mid] M2C then [mid-high] HLB Wise are good choices.

all these cards are within reasonable reach by most ppl with RM30-40k per annum income.

suggestions by sj0217, DarReNz and supersound above are valid and depends on each individual's personal preferences (e.g. rewards, customer service, efficiency, etc)

if only MBB Islamic Ikhwan card has signup promo similar to M2C biggrin.gif then this card is fairly good until next year's GST implementation.

side note: too bad public transport still bad, personal transport dependency on petrol is still very high, thus any cashback for petrol category would be very much appreciated.

side note 2: let's hope by next year's GST, MBB wont introduce AF to their cards (taxable). be watchful with current signup promo or rewards that spans until 1st April 2015 (GST implementation). there could be new mechanism/"control" on new signup requirements after 1st April. hmm.gif

You have to call the other number: card centre number.

The general CS line may not entertain you.

I applied through calling.

The staff will ask you if you have existing CC with MBB and if your salary goes in to MBB. If you answer YES, then no need to submit a single document.

Otherwise, I have no answer.
