Guys, my MBB Mastercard was attempted for more than 20 times for online transaction two nights ago, received more than 20 sms for MSOS request which was not done by me (USD for aliexpress.com, alipay.com, Moneybookers Ltd., Ali Pay UK, Unibank MK, Defshop KG [in Euro], Imedia Plus Group etc.)

In fact, I have not used my MBB 2 card - master card for  more than 1 year already, so suddenly I received so many MSOS sms really freaked me out. I quickly called up the CS and I was told that those are attempts only, no transactions have been done. Nevertheless they will suspend my master card immediately and ask me to collect the new card from the nearest branch after 7 working days.

Luckily no attempt so far on my Amex as well as the supplementary cards. Really wondering how the hell they get hold of my master card details.

well, the fraudster/bot does not know the mastercard belongs to you.

most likely it's an automated blasting with randomize card numbers until it goes thru. think of it like a 'tembak' game until some portal accepts it.

if it's blocked at MSOS portal, then it has no authorization to be charged at all. think MSOS like a firewall that protect you/bank from invalid transaction requests.

Nope, I even go to my nearest branch to confirm this. Just give card center a call, you may need to furnish some supporting documents(like pay increase) or using FD as deposit.
But if you are their long time "supporter", you may not even need to have the above 2.

I linked my amex with paypal but upon check out there is no Conversion Method that is usually there with Visa and Mastercard . I want to change it to billed in sellers currency instead of using PayPals rate. Is it disabled for amex ?

Looks like treatpoints are immediately given at the end of the period (when statement is out)...

What about cashbacks? Same statement?
Meaning that if I spent 1k on a weekend, the following statement will instantly have the 5% of the 1k in cashback?

Treatpoints are given 1-2 days after the transactions.

Cashback will be given on the 1st or 2nd of the month.

From your experience, are the maybank card centers open on a public holiday?

if it is located in the mall, it should be open.

Bro, call the number for Maybankard Centre 1U you gave last time which I posted in Post#1 long ago and ask them for Melaka Contact No.

i think maybankards in general and amex in particular are now very vigilant when it comes to online purchase.

most of the times i have to call maybank CS because my initial payment is always declined. they only open the particular merchant for 24hrs for your online purchase before they close it again.

Have you registered your MSOS code?

If no, that might be the reason you failed making a payment via online.

I just recommended my foreign colleague to apply for this card. I was thinking to recommend her Visa Signature or this but after reading Visa Signature, doesn't seem to be that beneficial to her. Both of us will apply for RHB Signature or Alliance credit card after I read it well.

In the end, asked her to apply for Maybankard2Plat. Got the form from KL Sentral branch but we are going to KLCC tomorrow for dinner, not sure if the 1-hour approval still applicable in KLCC? unsure.gif

Another question on the GST, though I understand that it is RM 100 for 2 cards. Is there any way to waive it with minimal swipes? Sorry, I'm totally outdated these days. Appreciate your advice. smile.gif
