I just recommended my foreign colleague to apply for this card. I was thinking to recommend her Visa Signature or this but after reading Visa Signature, doesn't seem to be that beneficial to her. Both of us will apply for RHB Signature or Alliance credit card after I read it well.

In the end, asked her to apply for Maybankard2Plat. Got the form from KL Sentral branch but we are going to KLCC tomorrow for dinner, not sure if the 1-hour approval still applicable in KLCC? unsure.gif

Another question on the GST, though I understand that it is RM 100 for 2 cards. Is there any way to waive it with minimal swipes? Sorry, I'm totally outdated these days. Appreciate your advice. smile.gif

I did ask the staff in KL Sentral when we requested for application form from her, she seems very puzzled about this new sign-up promo...
Thought that you guys will be more updated than those staff. laugh.gif

Maybankard Centres at KLCC, The Gardens, and 1U has instant card issuance (1 or 2 hours).

try do it before 7pm with as much supporting documents readily available (just in case). after 7pm, sometimes they backprocessing the application to next days.

oh yeah, as usual, call up Maybank to be sure on the operating hours, etc.

Not trying to purchase stuff in RM via PayPal. Its in a foreign currency.

Usually if its Visa/Master there is an option in PayPal where you can select the conversion method whether you would like to use paypal or your credit card option "bill me instead"

But with amex the option is not there thus making it even more expensive

I go to Maybank USJ Branch to apply for MBB2 Card. The staff there didn't even mention about the promo too. Then just now their sales department call me informing about this promo. Pretty neat can offset the GST charge

The cash back is for your first year only, 2nd year onwards will use your treatpoints to offset it.

Yes, which means if approved by this year, i can offset the charges with the cashback. 2nd year onward will be using treatpoints to offset the charges, i understand. Also the sales guy said something about RM100 e-voucher for air asia. Might be a good thing for end of year vacation trip nod.gif

Guys, hoping to get some input.

I read in this thread that someone mentioned the 1-hour approval is still in effect at the two branches mentioned in the first post. I'm thinking of going today, don't think I'll be able to be there before 7 as I get off work at 6.

I don't need to get it within the hour, but if it's only available the next day, or even next Monday, is there any possibility that they can mail it to a different branch for collection?

Also, I was told that nowadays, you don't need all the documents, they can just check your epf statement...Is that true?

Thanks! biggrin.gif
