all g8 and atn unis...............

avoid the 2nd and 3rd tier unis.............fees are the same, but quality and comsistency may be a problem...........

unless your ter scores sucks..........need at least 94 for g8..........99.5 for sydney and melbourne........... blink.gif
*
It won't actually reach 99.5. A TER of 98 should be sufficient for full fee paying students.
QUOTE
A full-fee paying place may be allocated to applicants with a UAI up to five points below the UAI cut-off. The UAI cut-off for fee-paying in 2007 was 97.1.

I wouldn't recommend 3 science subjects. The 9 hours of practicals is very stressful. You need to prepare in advance for every practical. Chemistry requires you to write-up till the results page, with the tables ready before your practical, while everyone does different practicals in physics each week, so your practical won't be the same as your other friends. So, everyone will be fighting for the demonstrators. I'm nt familiar with bio, so I don't know.

I'm taking both chem, physics, maths 1 and maths 2. And I find the stress especially from the science subjects as a killer.

But, anyway, its up to you really. I'm just advising that you should perhaps swap physics for maths 1 since you said that your maths is not very good. But, with help from the tutors, you can score a good grade. But, once you arrive in Trinity, you can seek advice from the lecturers in charge.

If you want, I'll show you some past year physics papers.

thanks, its either maths1 or physics then. My maths are still ok, not the super good type, but i think my physics is better though. thanks again, i'll see what to take up when i get there =)

For the health insurance part, you need to pay something call OSHC health care.It basically pays up your medical fees in case you are sick but it doesnt cover stuff like dental.

If your country is at level 2,should shouldn't be much of a problem to process your visa.I heard if you are from country that are in level 3-5,you might need to declare things like how much your parents earn per month and other stuff before you can get your visa.

I dont think you can cover all you fees if you work part time because you are only allowed to work 20 hours per week(unlimited for holidays). You might be able to cover certain part like grocery or rent.

Do correct me if im wrong.

oh, ok. so...do u think if i can get 5500 from my scholarship
how long that will be enough for?
and... how much exactly i can earn from part time job?

you will not be the first person who thinks you can finance your studies by working parttime, or who thinks you can pretend to enrol in studies but then work full time to earn money..........

to prevent this, you are limited to 20 hr part time work a week...........you can of course work for cash (ie will not be monitored), but that is slave labour and pays poorly..........

and if you do NOT attend at least 80% of classes, you will either not be allowed to sit for exams, or be allowed to graduate............

so if you are a geniune student, and taking a light course, it is possible to cope with 20 hours of work a week, and the income will pay for you living expenses...........but not enough for fees.........if you are enrolling in a high demand course, you will NOT cope with 20 hrs of work, unless you are so clever you can scrap by passes with minimal study input...........

scholarships are available, but few, for international students, and is based on merit, so you will really have to be good to get them.............

the climate has changed over the last 20 years or so...........previously, fees are minimal, and one can work and study, and be self financing, and many people have benefited from the generosity of the australian taxpayers and government............not possible nowadays, with the current fees levels...........

You don't have to be too hard on yourself. I'm go online A LOT, especially in between class breaks (in the computer lab) and I'm getting quite good marks. Just make sure you spend some time studying and doing assignments, but not ALL the time. biggrin.gif

If it boils down to that, then consider other factors such a cost of living, social support, family support, climate etc.

They make more of a difference than the uni IMO.

I suggest it to be higher. On an average week, $75.

If you have many friends here, you'll find yourself eating out very often. Bump it up to $100 then.
Just a single meal can cost you $10. And that Yum Cha... $15-$25.

No orchestra in Trinity Foundation, but there is a music club. It doesn't do much stuff actually. Most of the musical stuff happens in the Residential College and not Foundation Studies.
