Hey bhypp, I'm leaving for Clayton too. =)
Maybe us Melb ones can meet up too, or perhaps all who are leaving to Aus.

If I get a green light wave I'll get one gathering up.

When you apply for your visa, they'll let you know. Do not go for a checkup unless you are ordered to do so by the Visa procedures.

I suggest you get one adaptor (or 2) and then get an extension with 4 ports. Then you plug in your laptop charger phone charger whatever la.

I would like to ask if having diploma in Malaysia tarc, after diploma is it easy to apply degree course in austarlia university? Can direct enter into the 2nd year of the degree ma?

Go8 in Australia IMO will 99% not accept the syllabus from TARC. Can't say for the others though.

Dude, what I meant was the credit transfer, not a pre-U --> degree. Sorry for being unclear, but what I mean in my post is credit transfer from diploma to waive, say the first year of degree in Go8 is highly not possible

However, if that is what you mean, and it isn't a special arrangement of the scholarship, then I stand corrected.

Eh, it shouldn't take that long. I did my checkup on a Monday afternoon, I reckon Tuesday morning only they sent in because doc called me for some details unfilled, and Thursday evening received an email confirming it.

So, panic? Rawrr. Get your flight tickets first though, rather important if you haven't done so already.

IF you are getting on-campus acco, for sure you get it way before you even reach Australia, or you face high chances of insufficient space.

Off-campus well, you can leave for Aussie earlier to look at various places first. Stay with a friend or something in the mean time.

Your uni should have a online market place, right? Otherwise google around and see.

If possible can you attach the weight of each category packed, I'm sure it'll help more. =P

Gah!!! How do you pack for yourself, your brother and his gf and still stay within the limit of 30kg?

Really simple. Cut back alot on clothes. Wash more often. Bring only one jacket/windbreaker here and use it all the time. Get additional ones if you want here instead =P. Don't bring too many CDs, if you have enough time just get an external HDD and copy them all in.

You're missing bedsheet or a blanket/quilt cover. You can get it here though, but I had extra so I brought them. Jackets, you don't really need that many IMO.

Most importantly don't forget your passport.

My dear I never asked you to bring the blanket/quilts la, what I'm asking you to bring is the sheets/cover for it =P. Roll it up real tight and it'll take up relatively little space. Quilts here though are kinda expensive so be prepared, a good goose down one will be like 200+?

Use daemon tools to rip them to ISO.

Perth is not that cold, infact not even the Melbourne-ians and Sydney-ians need a trench coat/thick jacket. Leave that for places like Russia/Alaska.

You might wanna wear multiple layers instead. For me, yeah it's cold outside but the moment I step in a campus building it is a different story altogether. I'd say a good setup would be just your shirt + windbreaker.

Eh just bring a few shorts will do (sexy ones? =P) for house wearing. You do not want to go out in winter with shorts xD. Jeans/Long pants is a standard wear for those going out.

Sneakers, went to a Nike F.Outlet, prices is roughly the same IMO can't be certain. If you have a good pair from Malaysia, bring it. Perhaps ckwei can answer you better.

Since there is no hurry, we'll wait for eRiCCa (I think she'll be back in a couple of weeks). Sunday is a good day due to Sunday Saver. Sneak in the days in the next 3-4 weeks (in your next post) which you are not available so proper planning in ensued.

nay. you'd have to get my landlady to kick me out to get my place and believe me, its close to impossible right now hehe

UQ's just like any other uni campus. i wont say that its big for sure as some unis in m'sia are much bigger in terms of land area etc.

yea go to Sunnybank to get asian food is all i can say. there's Yuen's supermarket there if you ever need groceries. there's also Ding Hao supermarket nearby as well, and also Little Taiwan. dont know if the Great Circle Line bus goes to your area but if they do, board it to go to Sunnybank.

Garden City as in the shopping centre or the suburb? if its just the shopping centre, its just a matter of hopping on a bus on the southern busway (the 555 to Logan Hyperdome is one of them IIRC) and getting off at the Garden City stop innit? tongue.gif

Yeah, the landlady the pussies and the cocks all love QuackSilver. They're pretty attached.

Small life of a farmer, how sweet xD.

Spam more and this will head to Kopitiam.

Anyway, Melbournians, I'm suggesting the gathering be held during the easter break. I'd suggest a Sat or Sun night during the start of it.

Most of us (except eRiCCa xD) aren't that free with uni/work commitments, which is the main reason why it would be more appropriate to hold it at the said date.

Alas, what a horrible day. Got stuck in the city as something happened at Malvern station, so I couldn't get back to Clayton through the city loop trains. Instead I had to take a blood packed tram (everyone was doing the same thing as the lines were temporarily suspended) to the Caufield station, then take a train back to Clayton.

Crap man. Lugging 8 KG worth of groceries like that. Bah.

you are lucky that you were not driving through the tunnel... else... dont know...

a huge collision in burnley tunnel today... http://www.theage.com.au/news/general/cars...4597835500.html

Wanted go to your place to hang out while waiting, but you were out working T_T.

But it does seem like a serious accident, although frankly I find the description of how the accident rather blur, certainly one heck of a collision though to melt the cars.

And hopefully it gets colder tomorrow (according to the weather forecast it will), been really sweating these past couple of days.

Of course, to all in uni, assignment/short exams peak is approaching so, don't slack =P.
