I'm doing Software Engineering/Commerce with a major in Finance.
Life's ok here, but very hectic. During session, we're pretty much busy all the time because there is a lot of readings and assignments to do. SENG assignments are a killer as they take up a lot of time. As we work on a lot of research projects (yes, even for undergraduates), the stuff is pretty challenging in itself.
Sydney's a beautiful place and I'd say it's not expensive if you're comparing it with Melbourne. However, you might get less Malaysians here than you do in Melbourne.

In my opinion, i think UWA is one of the most affordable UNI that has been recognize as the group of 8... and living expenses in Perth is far more cheaper than in big cities such as Sydney and Melbourne.

As for uni in australia, you can actually do A lvl, or SAM (south australian matriculatiaon) which is available in taylors college... get an above average score and they should accept you. ( depending on the course you want to do ).

I am a SAM student, and i think its really good in assisting you to any uni in australia because it is just a 1 year course and it is recognize throughout australia!

duh...........when you are a pr, you are a resident, so you can work there, but you will compete for jobs (easy) and training posts (difficult) like all other australians.............

if you return, you need 1 year of housemanship (if you have not done one elsewhere), and serve 3 years with the government as compulsory service..........this has NOTHING to do with postgraduate training........which is a completely different thing altogether...........

for any malaysian to be fully registered to practice in Malaysia, you need to complete 1 year housemanship, and then 3 years compulsory service...........

if you do NOT intend to practise in Malaysia, you can forget about all this..........duh........

however, say 10 years later, when your old parents request you to return, you will still then require to complete your 3 years compulsory service with the government..........

there are however, special dispensation now for people aged above 40, you can apply for exemption..........

duh..........if you want to enter oz unis, you will do oz year 12 programmes, which varies from state to state (cos education is state affair), and sam is based on sace...........duh.......

to what course?

all oz state year 12 results are nationally collated, and assigned a score based on percentile ranking, called TER, ENTER, OP, UAI, depending on which states.............

cutoff TER's for each uni, and each course are ALL on the net.............go google and research yourself, instead of expecing to be spoonfed............like typical bodohland students.......

if you do eventually end up in oz unis, you will learn quickly they don't spoonfeed people..........so might as well get used to it.............i have pointed the way with the info i gave..........that should be enough for you to do internet research............

if you think this is bad, you haven't seen the real world yet..........
