QUOTE(horns @ Jul 23 2015, 12:33 AM) Oh i misread the instructions. It's for legit copies. From what I've read the notification will come out even if the os is not a legit copy. What if you run the gwx folder? nothing happened

One thing that bothers me the most, upon turning on my device, the lock screen font for clock, wifi icon, ease of access icon is big. Detailed status and notification icon doesn't comes up. Once you're logged in and then you lock your device, suddenly all of icon mentioned above becomes small, mail notification comes up and only then Calendar shown on my detailed status. Another thing is Action Center panel. Open Action Center. If you watch closely, you'll notice few pixel missing from the black Action Center panel (top left of the panel). Anyone having this? I know this is minor issue, but knowing it's there, bugs me.

Yup. That means Windows 10 is never complete. Update and features will be pushed out constantly. Seeing that they will continue the Insider Preview even after Windows 10 launch tells us that much.

decided to convert my xps 15 to run w10 just now. it ran w8.1 pro retail because i use tpm and bitlocker for os and data drives. here is what i did:
to avoid potential issues and to cut short times used for checking, i backed up all data, wiped the os drive to get rid of bitlocker. then i did a fresh install and ran windows updates until there was nothing left to update. i also made sure every driver was installed correctly before i activated the os online. after that was done, i optimized the os drive and did a chkdsk on os drive to make sure the drive was good to go.
i made windows 10 usb stick by formatting it with fat32 (this computer runs windows uefi mode), and extracting the contents of w10 rtm iso directly into it, then i ran setup.exe in the usb stick and the upgrade began.
the process consisted of 4 steps, and several reboots: 1. prep. when i ran the setup.exe it ran some checks and because my computer was connected to internet, it downloaded windows updates and drivers too. i chose to keep nothing. after confirming what i wanted, the setup continued to check compatibility, and made sure drive space was sufficient to continue. once it's done, the computer rebooted.
2. copy files. after reboot, w10 setup copied files from usb stick. once it's done, the computer rebooted.
3. installing features and drivers. the setup continued to install features and drivers. another reboot here once it's completed.
4. setting up. this part was like what we do for initial settings after fresh install. (i.e. giving computer a name, creating local account, confirming initial settings, and then continuing setup before we go into the desktop)
once inside the desktop, you need to connect to the internet to activate w10.
that's it. everything is good here.

Rome Total War still does not work (needing directx9 or something). Not that I play the game much anyway but having created mods for that game I may have to check from time to time.
Medieval 2 surprisingly works to had few crashes here and there.. All newer games (Shogun 2 until Attila) works flawlessly though I have to re0verify the game cache on Steam every time windows have those big updates (change build).
