you can proceed, but bear in mind that it will be a long process due to limited system resources.

how can i do clean install?

i thinking to reformat my current win 8.1 and do clean install for win 10.

is there any way to do so?
*
upgrade to windows 10 first, then refresh your pc, which is known as reformat in windows 7 era, but the process is much more simple in windows 8 and 10 now
just click refresh, windows will do the rest

ok smile.gif if this doesn't work well, wait patiently for the official iso, so that you can do an offline upgrade.

oh we have different concepts about clean install. to me it means to wipe the disk using diskpart > clean to clear everything, and starts from scratch. a windows refresh doesn't do that.

windows refresh is doing that in the background
just that you don't see it
we manage to make a reserved windows image on temporary floating partition to make sure the windows is able to install again by itself
the effect of that is the same as complete wipe and start from scratch

it should be more than 6gb from what i have read.

look guys, before you jump into this upgrade thing, make sure that you understand there will be missing stuff in w10 compared to previous os. notably windows updates will be automatic if you're upgrading to home edition, and you have no control on which to update (as of this writing); windows media center is gone; desktop gadgets is gone too.

Windows 10 installed around 25 minutes on SSD

user posted image

it did not have any options to have a "Clean install " for the upgrade from windows 7, so my files and docuemnt are kept.

i think i going to "clean install" windows 10 soon

FYI: you can revert to the previous OS if u dun like

ok.

just completed a fresh install with a home-brew w10 installer based on .esd in the $Windows.~BT folder.

in the installation process just skip everything that ask you about product key. once os installation is completed, install drivers if necessary, then connect to the internet. it's automatically activated.
