Successfully upgraded 2 units of laptop using media creation tool, create USB installer

Any pirated windows user successfully updated to win 10 ? is the installation process same as those user who r running genuine windows ? crack needed?

I'm using non-genuine win7 on my desktop . Surprisingly , i also gt the Get Windows 10 icon at the taskbar this morning..

we don't talk about piracy on the forum

their using a kms activator to emulate to authenticate, and that it works. this is the same as what they did in prior os

i plan to upgrade my laptop running genuine win8.1 . Which version should I install ? Win10 Home or win 10 home single language ? I duno whether my Windows is Windows 8.1 or Windows 8.1 Single language...How to check it ? It's not stated in System Properties , right ?

Last night tried to update my lappy from 8.1--> Win 10.

Used the trick to forced it update (wuauctl.exe /updatenow). It manages to download but when install, hit an error 8xxxx002 something. Done twice, give up.

Anyone has this problem??

do reset factory from windows.... when pc starts up go windows update. it will then say you can upgrade to windows.... then will download.

"Reset Factory"??? Whaddaya mean? I have cleared the C:\windows\softwaredistribution\download folder twice and re-download. Still the same thing.

The thing is i am forcing it to download coz i don't wanna wait for the notification.

after we upgrade to windows 10, do we automatically get the directX12? Coz yesterday i tried to play maple story 2 and it was smooth than ever lol

Yeah, but DirectX depends on games, your game wont auto upgrate to DirectX12, it's still 9 or lower.

Did you reserved the free upgrade? I don't know whether if you can directly install from the ISO.
My windows 7 was jack sparrow version, but installed Insider preview and converted to legit version + opted out the preview.

Manage to upgrade one of my home desktop from win8.1 pro with media centre edition (genuine version). After successful upgrade and the auto activation, i try checking the product key with Key Finder program - surprisingly the product key is the generic key for Win10 Pro floating in the internet now.

Awww mang the cons of upgrading windows is that...been there b4 during the first day of windows 7 release yikes

Hi all,

My experience on Upgrading to Win 10.

1. Using the normal Windows Update but no luck...indicate Failed error code 80240020.

2. Tried delete the Sofware distribution folder files and command prompt to start download. Windows 10 downloading but failed again.

3. Use the Media Creation Tool and try create a USB bootable installer but can not detect my flash drive.

4. Change to Upgrade this PC and Something Happened pop out. haizzzz.

Now after reading this forum.. I will try to change the Language and see how it goes.

If it is still not working then I bring my laptop to Thunder Match and see how much they charge for the upgrading service.

try run slmgr /dli from administrative command prompt.

yes. you can run dxdiag from run dialog (win+r keys) to check.

yes i think at least retail version have the same key.

know that there are a lot of people doing upgrade at the moment. ms.servers get overloaded most of the times. (hence that 8xx error) so it will take longer to wait.

you can try download the w10 as iso with media creation tool first. i did it again last night to help one guy here and it worked well.

Did you turn on your Anti-virus? I think can try that. Gonna try turn off my anti-virus and upgrade again tonight.

Your experience is exactly the same as mine. After changing the language locale it should work. My Asus was like that. But my low end netbook failed to update. My guess is the specs is too low although GWX said that it is sufficient enough to run Win10. I guess Ill just leave it at Win7.
